Looks like Willi Orban, the former under 21 central defender of Germany, starter and captain of Red Bull Leipzig, is ready to play for Magyarok this fall!! If this is indeed true, it solves a huge problem. Kadar and Orban, will man the middle of the defense and it will be the best pairing on paper since the 60's. Orban may have a fight to keep his starting job at Red Bull this year, but to have someone like him to play for us, is Huge!

Welcome

but, has a lame melléktaste to it, because he only choses us now after he realized he never get into the german team, plus he doesn‘t even speak magyarul, with the latter point being that Leandro and Vinícius make more sense as they speak the language

Oh he doesn't? Ehh figured he was of the Marozsán or Dárdai ilk.

Not being good enough for Germany isn't a deal breaker for me, as many players aren't. Gladly take him if he is Magyar but that's a good point to consider.

Leandro and Vinicius, complete foreigners make more sense than a Hungarian kid that was born in a neighboring nation? LOL...Vinicius and Leandro would never be considered to be on Brazil's C team..Hungarian blood (natural talent) and learned german football (mentally tough) is the best combo we could ever hope for. He's born in germany so rather than choose between mother and father, he waited to see if he could make German team. If this is true and he takes us over Poland, which Im assuming he was offered cause their center backs are their weak point, this is a compliment for us. The best player we naturalized was Miriuta and he was in his 30's..this kid is 25. He can learn the language in a year

Leandro is a bit different as he moved to Hungary as a teenager. Hungarian wife and kids, speaks the language. That's different than coming as just a not good enough to play anywhere else professional.

Maybe. Hungarian isn't that easy to learn:)

Leandro learned to speak magyarul quickly. But he lived and worked in Hungary. Billy is not!

I don't really care. We're still as weak as piss.

Not news. Maybe if we had 7 or 8 new players it may make a difference.

Did anyone actually read the article? No where does it say he's ready to play this fall. It says he'll be offered the chance to. It also says he wants to be a Germ and won't give up the dream and take an easy option.

Close thread please.

I'll take any help we can get. We can't not qualify for this tournament that Hungary is partially hosting. Not qualifying is not an option.

..and that he doesn't close any option. It's not looking very likely.

Why didn't he play for the Hun NT in the past years? He should have been on the team for ages. Instead, he waited for the lőw to call him up? That was a bad chess move, Vilikém!

Does he have Magyar nationality, or is he a dual citizen? Captain of Leipzig, nicceeeee!... smooth name, Willi Orban, a well playing young defensive man is always welcome and needed, probably has the makings of a star in the backline.

Doesn't he have to have magyar citizenship to play for the NT? So it must be dual then. He doesn't speak magyarul so that's a strike against him. Surely we can use him on the pitch (a definite starter), but this is not like changing clubs, which it feels a little like.
