I think that it was because he was not a big name and they probably thought that this was not good enough. I, personally think that he must have been drunk.
Why did they ever replace Peter Taylor?
The man had a perfect record for the U21's and they seemed to be progressing nicely. Now under Howard Wilkinson we seem to be taking steps backwards. I never rated him as a manager in the first place, with his direct tactics and England could rue the decision to let peter Taylor go!
