Everybodys got the wrong impression this year

Due to Porto's amazing victory of the champoins league , some over zealous fools are going on saying how it could be liverpools or psv's year

well lets look at the facts

LIverpool have absoultely no chance , struggled to pass through an easy cl group and got lucky playing a woeful leverkusen side , not much going forward , yeah well they banged 6 past leverkusen , but you know what , to be honest thats not saying much they have consistenly struggled to score on regular basis in the epl and time arfter time against monaco , olympiakos in both away fixtures.

Defensivly , not bad but always likely to make silly mistakes and lose their bottle , traore Suspect hypiasuspect and charrager plays with a lot of heart but lacks pace and is no John Terry

Psv - Lost a lot of players last year and have began building again this year a good young team with a lot of promising players but that is all what they are ...a feeder team to chelsea  espeacially when you see them sell alex next year

What people didnt realise about the porto team compared to hopefuls this year is that they were top , playing good tactical football , and had brilliant players in Deco , Ferriara , Costinha and Carlos Alberto etc ...also the fact is that good devensive sides win the champoins league the ability to scrape a 1-0 or to keep out the away goal

then you have the 4 teams that will contest it

1)Ac milan
2) Chelsea
3)Juventus
4)Lyon

Lyon are the most like the porto of last year , some very good young players in essien , mavuba and good honest players such as Wiltord then just like Porto you can take in the account of being underrated , a good young manager ( Le Guen) and just similary like porto win their league by 10 or so points

although Chelsea , milan are self - explanatory the two big favourites

Well for starts it's Hyypia and Carragher if you're going to abuse are players atleast spell their names right. Say what you like about Jamie but anyone who has watched any Premiership football this year will know he's a top qulaity defender, hows about start watching with your eyes opose to with your ears (listening to all the crap said by people who know **** all on the tinernet.)

The easy Champions League group contained last years losing finalist, Deportivo (a very good side in their own rights) and Olympiakos, being Greek, are a hard team to go away to.

But **** it underestimate us all you like, if we lose it's expected if we win you look like a fool.

hate to bother you but they call that AN OPINION. Any team in the CL has a chance, even if slim, and since we've won our last three matches 3-1 I would hardly say we're in poor form.

We got through and that shows character and resolve. Nobody gave us much hope and we have hardly had the best of luck with injuries. All in all we've done the job put in front of us and that is all any team can do. Those that couldn't are out - Man Utd and Arsenal to name the two English clubs

I find it amusing you say everyone assumes a team like Porto last year will win and they've got the wrong impression yet you've cited Lyon as one of the best four :rollani: Wisdom after the event isn't really wisdom at all ;)

And for the person who raised the question about the timing of this post, the draw was at 11am and this was posted AFTER

Yeah sure , olympiakos got raped by newcastle
Deportivo didnt even score a single goal
and Monaco are nothing like how good they were last yera

if monaco were anything like last season then they wouldve got past Psv

yeah , lyon ar emost like the dark horse like Porto , but what the post was reperesenting is that backing on Liverpool's or Psv's success due to porto;s heroics last year are foolish and a pipe dream

Lyon is going to win this CL. They play the best football consitently, out of all the teams IMO.

But then playing good, does not produce necessarily a good result in football

My fav player is Salman Rushteau, the forward of Lyon who is also author of The Satanic Verses, which must be something about Milan or Manchester Utd or, more probably, Foggia.

the remarks about carragher show you know shit all about liverpool .Carragher has been liverpool's player of the season above steven gerrard ,but becos he doesn't play for chelsea he doesn't have the english press wanking all over him and saying ho wonderful he is ,when he played for england against holland carragher had a superb game made it look easy .You are writing off liverpool's chances but that might have something to do with being an arsenal fan ,sour grapes me thinks.
