The tournament is just two and a half weeks away from the opening ceremony and game, so now is as a fitting time as any to make pre-tournament predictions as to who everyone thinks will conquer the world this summer in Brazil.

Many questions and storylines are on peoples' minds ahead of this World Cup. Some of them are:

Can Spain win 4 major tournaments in a row?
Can Messi/Ronaldo propel themselves to all-time legends by leading their NTs to world glory?
Will Brazil, on home soil, win their sixth title and erase the painful memories of 1950?
Will this golden German generation finally come good and win it all?
Is there going to be a European winner on South American soil for the first time ever this year?
How will dark horses such as Chile, Belgium, and Colombia fare?
And many more...

So Xtratimers, it's now up to you. Who will win the 2014 FIFA World Cup?

No one has yet voted for Spain. Just because they were on holiday last summer?

If Diego Costa doesn't make it, who to start up front? Villa?

Negredo kind of disappeared towards the end of the season.

And Brazil will depend on Neymar in attack.
Argentina has a front line but else looks modest.
Netherlands have old & kids.
Germany looks OK but we know how they choke.
Uruguay is having trouble with Suarez in doubt.

The rest doesn't seem to matter anyway.
I would like the winner to be decided between Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay.

there squad is ageing, casillas not as he used to be, puyol has gone, negredo, torres, soldado are all not exactly world beaters, costa get's injured then what? xavi, iniesta, alonso are all over 30 now, doesn't mean they can't produce but it will not work as well as four years ago, or even 2 years ago.
The economy in Spain is in the crapper, they wont be able to AFFORD the increased price for the 2014 Fifa Cup. :rimshot: The Germans WILL !!!

They get my vote.

Despite the fact that Negredo's form declined towards the end of the season, it doesn't take away his early season form. There's the old adage that "form is temporary, class is permanent" and he is a pretty classy striker. Although Torres and Llorente haven't had great seasons, they're useful options too.

Spain still have the best squad on paper. The fact that they've won the last three major tournaments is impressive, but more importantly it's the confidence and self belief that comes from that which will make them so difficult to beat.

Del Bosque has pretty much said that Torres will be the starter

We will go out in the group stage. Congrats to Holland and Chile for moving on.
