No one... he's a symbol, the Gil family would be killed by the atleticos. Torres only would leave Atlético, if he's not happy there and he forces the situation. But he would never leave for economical reasons, because Atlético would pay him whatever he wants. They would sell the Calderon to play in La Peineta in order to keep Torres, if that were necessary.

Someone already offered them more than 40 million € and they refused the offer. Torres will be "colchonero", as long as he wants to be it.

Well as far as Milan is concerned then, they must pay back the 23 MLN Euros.
They'll pay soon or later. I think that they will do a similar operation to the one that did Real Madrid some years ago. Madrid's City Hall is willing to make some changes in the zone of the stadium and Atlético is thiking in selling the stadium to the city. Atlético would get a lot of millions in this operation and they would play in the stadium that is being built for the Olympic candidature of Madrid 2012.

This is not for sure yet, but they're a big club, so if they can not pay the amount that you say, they'll do this operation, but they won't sell their home star. Atlético is living hard times, but they're not sellers.

Barça knocked on Gil's door and they didn't want to listen to the offer. They said "NO, NO and NO". I even recall to see stickers that said "Torres is not sold".

i meant, if he stays at atletico he will play at best Uefa cup. At best!
That's his choice. If he's happy in the team that he supports since he was a little kid, let him be. Maybe he just wants to be one of the greatest Atlético players ever and not the best player of the world.

Besides, Atlético is potentially the 3rd club of Spain without any doubt. They're still paying their relegation to Segunda Division, but historically they have a lot of domestic and international titles. Atlético Madrid is a big club without a doubt, despite their current situation. I'm sure that in the middle term they can be among the top 4 in Spain, playing the CL. They are the 3rd club in Spain in terms of social support and this fact will help them to recover their economical situation, soon or later.

9 Ligas, 9 Copas, 1 Cup Winners Cup and 1 Intercontinental Cup. Of course, they're not as great as AC Milan, but still one of the best clubs in Europe.
