Football will kick off on September 13, 2000 in Sydney. These are the teams competing:
Australia
Czech Republic
Kuwait
South Africa
Brazil
Honduras
Morocco
South Korea
Cameroon
Italy
Nigeria
Spain
Chile
Japan
Slovakia
United States

Italy and Spain look good bets. Spain won it in 1992 in Barcelona, and Italy of course as we know have an increddible amount of outstanding young talent. :)
"young" players from African countries were usually amazing the world with their "debut".
Especially that we don't hear too much about their home competition, most of the young players were somewhat "hidden".
And of course there are the Brazilians. :)

i dont know much about olympic soccer because they never televise but all i want to know is if the countries competing in the olympics will put out there regular teams, for example will the czechs be playing with the same team they did in euro or is it the young guys that play like the under 21 team.

The olympic teams are under 23's. So there can be pro's from major clubs but they have to be under 23.

These are my favourites for the Olympics:

Brazil(very good u23 team)
Italy(winners of u21 euro2000 and Ambrosini, Zambrotta, Abbiati and others says it all)
Czech rep.(very good team which came runner up for u21 euro2000)
Nigeria(defending champs with a top side)
Spain(very good team)

Australia will also do well but I don't see them winning it. They have a good olympic team and have home advantage.
I usually show no interests for Olympic soccer but since I live in Sydney and we are hosting it I am sort of excited.
I will be going to see the Australia-Italy game in Melbourne. Forza a l'Azzuri.

I think Abbiati is 22. He was the gk for Italia's u21 euro2000 winning side.
I heard that Raul is too exhausted to play in the Olympics bcause of the busy season he had.
I would want Italia to take Baggio, Maldini and Vieri/Nesta as the 3 over age players but I'm not sure if Vieri will still be injured or not.

I hope the Italian team will win.The under-21 team is good.
And as for the 3 over age player, I'd like Baggio,Maldini and Albertini to play:)
