Following the conclusion of their domestic league season on Wednesday, the Saudi Arabia Football Association announced a preliminary World Cup squad of 29 players who will be involved in a two-week training camp in Riyadh.

All but two of the players named by Saudi head coach Nasser Al Johar for the training camp squad have already been capped by their country. The only exceptions are versatile Al Ahly defender Walid Abed Rabbo and Al Nasr midfielder Mansour Al Thaqafi.

However, there is no place in Al Johar’s squad for Al Nasr midfielder Ibrahim Mater Al Harbi.

The training camp will run until May 14 when the Saudis are scheduled to play a warm-up friendly against Senegal in Riyadh.

Al Johar is expected to make his final cuts to the squad after the Senegal match, dropping six of the players before traveling to Japan with his final 23 for the World Cup.

Saudi Arabia training camp squad:
Goalkeepers: Mohamed Al-Deayyea, Mohamed Al-Khojali, Mabrouk Zayed

Defenders: Mohsen Al-Harithi, Abdullah Suleyman Al-Zubromawi, Ahmed Khalil, Ridha Takar, Mansour Al-Najayi, Mohamed Shaliyah Al-Jahani, Ahmed Al-Bahri, Saleh Al-Saqri, Ahmed Al-Doukhi
