We have had a lot of q's concerning the best player in Real Madrid, the player of the season, best buy and so on, but never before has anyone asked who is everybodies favorite player. Here is my list...


1) Raul Gonzalez Blanco
2) Savio Bortolini
3) Geremi Fotso Ndjitap and Jose Maria Guttierez AKA "Guti"

So there's my list, what do you guys feel? Sad to leave out some guys, such as Mori and Hierro, but didn't want to get emotional here

It was ROBERTO CARLOS who first made a football fan out of me so he'll always be on top of my favorite players list. Simply put, he is entertainment personified.

After just over a year of being a Real fan, I've also grown to like RAUL, HIERRO and MORIENTES. This year, IVAN HELGUERA and REDONDO have forced their way into my list with their outstanding performances and Madridista spirit.

If I had to pick one outside of Madrid, it would be Gabriel Batistuta. I know, Labas, you hate his guts, but heck, I don't. I think he's the best goalscorer of his generation. A joy to watch.

Labas, you hate Bati's guts? I didn't know that about you! Why on earth? I'm gonna have to agree completely with dwMB, he's definitely THE best striker in the world.

Since Raul and Redondo seem to be all Madrid fans' favorite players (me included), my votes this time will go to Macca that I absolutely love (ever since his Liverpool years) and Hierro, that has been the soul of Madrid's defensive game for 10 years. One bad year cannot possibly change that!

Hard question there's so much talent at the moment which off course is good.

1)Morientes
Didn't have the best season this year cause of injuries but I still believe in him and he did score in the CL. Morientes is good in the air have great technic, good ballcontrol and is cynical at goal. He's just after my opinion a magnificent striker.

2)Raul
This player doesn't need any comments.

3)Roberto Carlos
Entertaining player with great pace and a powerfull shot a true madrista in heart.

Hmmmm......unexpected, originally, I thought every Real fan will put Raul as the first favor...haha....now I am so happy that my picks won't seem odd anymore.

I knew he is not the best, but when I first saw Real play, Real vs Dortmund in 98CL (What a crazy match! Remember? The fans broke the goalgate.), I just saw him scored, then I fell in love with this football club--Real Madrid!!! ......really a sweet memory!

2)Roberto Carlos
not much to say since I am a Brazil fan...he will always be my fave no matter where he goes.

3)Raul , Hierro ....and recently, I became a Redondo fan....no need to explain, we all know why

While my all-time favorite is Miguel MICHEL Gonzales...followed closely by Butragueno! They were the ones who made me love Madrid in the first place

1) McManaman - does this actually suprise anyone here. He is my favourate player of all time abd the thing is that he always will be and I know that now.

2) Roberto Carlos - the most under-rated defender in the world and the thing is that he will stay at Madrid till the end of his career

I just hate him! He's so overrated. Played for 9 years in such a crap club, no wonder he was top scorer. I agree he's a good player, but nowhere near to world-class. It's no achievment to become topscorer in a small club, where noone can even be competition to you. That's why I think he's sh|t and that's why I hate him. We'll see how he does in AS ROma. For me he's the 10th choice there, behind Montella, Delvechio, Totti, Fabio Junior and every other possbile guy! I just hate the slob, such an overrated heap of sh|t! And please let's not argue, it won't be of any conclusion, believe me

We won't argue and that's for sure still, I asked you because I really was puzzled.

For the record though I think he's the only striker I've seen that never ever any defense has managed to "bury". He always stands out, either for Fiorentina or Argentina. And yes, maybe it's easier for a player to shine in a smaller team, but this team (and him in particular) still has to face some of the best defenses in Europe (Lazio, Juve, etc).

Anyway, we said we won't argue, will we?

Although I must admit that in my wildest dreams I was fantasizing of an attacking duo Bati-Raul for Madrid....... Ah!!!

I dont want to get involved but labas...Batti is a footballing god. Anyone thats seen him live can see his aura of superbness . Roma must sell Delvechio and muy a good midfielder. Then the team will be complete.

I agree Bati is great.He is the best striker in the world since Ronaldo's demise.He scores so easy that's it's unbelievable.Still with good marker he can be stopped.
I can't imagine Figo can be someone's fav player.I hate this guy.How he dives, simulates the fouls... yack!My fav tackle was when Carlos scythed him with a flying two-footed tackle.What a joy!No matter that Carlos got a red card and we were beaten 3-0, I enjoyed to see him in pain.

I dunno...I saw Campo play several times in person when he went to the MSL and he was sh*t every time. Now, I've seen him play in the Mexican league, and he was good.

I think he always plays a forward position too, no? I know he plays something else besides keeper. I can't remember what though.

Please let's not argue Batistuta, because there really is no point in doing so. He is just sh|t., nothing more About Luis Figo though - I agree he's an awesome player, really radical and when I say this, I mean a lot, because IMO he's the only player in the world that can contest Raul in terms of greatness. On the other hand I hate this motherfu**er so bad, I can't stop myself from cussing him every time he plays. An dcan you please tell me R&B, ho it is possible that such a great Barca fan as you, has seen Figo play TWICE That's pretty crappy.

Jorge Campos is optionally a striker or goalkeeper. I haven't yet seen him play the strikers role in a Mexican shirt though And that's the thing with him - he can play really crappy one time, and be great the next - and that's also probably the reason he never has come to Europe - inconsistant
