Who's your favorite Brazilian player?

Well, as requested...
Who's your favorite Brazilian player?

And most importantly, conversation-wise... WHY is that player your favorite? :)

Kaká...

Fantastic player and person. Even though he is a star, he is professional, hard-worker and humble. He is an example fo follow like Zico.

And Garrincha, how come you include Anderson Polga but no Gilberto?

There are so many from that list. Most of them I like, except two; Rochemback and Motta. They act more like spolied bratts than footballers. They should look up to Mauro Silva:star:, from that list in my top five, MS is just a class player, strong both in defending and leading a team.

I saw Luis Fabiano play live just last week and really liked the way he played.

But of course, being a Barcelona fan, Ronaldinho is whom I choose. He is playing incredible football and has led Barcelona out of mediocricy and back into the forefront of Spanish and world's football. And he is just 23. (plus he signed my son's shirt ;) ):star:

playing today?

Luis Fabiano, Gaucho and Cafu

The first for being the best brazilian striker after Ronaldo, Gaucho for being the best player this year and Cafu for representing the 10 years of achievements we had in the NT

Cafu is clearly the most underrated player in our NT, we always talk about R.Carlos but I think he is a more rounded player than him

I voted for ten players: Mauro Silva, Ronaldo, Kaka, Ronaldinho Gaucho, Juninho Pernambucano, Cafu, Marcos, Gilberto Silva, Roberto Carlos... and someone else.

Mauro Silva for his outstanding contribution to our WC triumph in 94. Mauro is a force of nature, and his absence from our NT in the past two WCs is one of the greatest injustices I've ever seen in football. :strong:

Ronaldo for many reasons: his explosive talent, the tremendous willpower and hard work that made his recovery possible, and for giving so much joy to all Brasilians. :star:

Kaka for his amazingly-premature maturity, as well as his obvious talent. Upon arrival in Italy, he took Milan by storm and claimed his place in their 1st team; who could ask for more from someone his age? And how far will this wonderkid GO, if he continues to develop at this pace? :eekani:

Ronaldinho Gaucho for what he is, and what he represents: the continuation of the great lineage of Brazilian "Craques". I won't waste time looking for adjectives for this young genius.

Juninho Pernambucano for his pure CLASS. And by class, I don't mean just the millimetrical precision of his passes or the power of his freekicks; but also his humility. While so many lesser players mouth off about how they should be in the Seleçao, Juninho discreetly does his job, proving his value in every single game.

Cafu for his unbelievable success and quiet leadership. Dunga led Brazil's team by sheer force of character, but Cafu leads by example, always working hard and delivering the goods. The same man who was booed by ninety thousand fans in the Maracana, played three consecutive World Cup finals AND one day raised the trophy as captain. :star: :star: :star: :star: :star:

Marcos for his relentless faith and fighting spirit. Marcos is the man who will put his face on the path of a striker's shot to save his team, if necessary. A true warrior: the man you want guarding your goal when the pressure is up and the stakes are high. :smileani:

Gilberto Silva for his efficiency and unbreakable work ethic. The "Invisible Wall" is a specialist in making other players' lives easier... and in making his team's gameplay flow smoothly, something few defensive midfielders do well. 'Nuff said. :cap:

Then there's "Thunder Thighs" himself, Roberto Carlos... the best wingback in the world today. And more than that, Roberto is a philantropist who doesn't like to advertise his charity works. Among other things, RC gave an entire new maternity ward to the hospital of the little city where he was born, and adopted a terminally-ill child as his own son, giving this kid a brand-new life. :proud: Really... once you know who Roberto Carlos IS, it's impossible not to like him. :)

And last but not least, the tenth Brazilian player who I voted for is "someone else"... Botafogo's fierce centreback Sandro, the best central defender in Rio de Janeiro today. Simply because international football isn't everything... :D

I've got two favorite Brasilian players, both are my favorite in the whole entire world. My other favs behind them who aren't Brasilian are Maldini, Nesta, Sheva & Pirlo.

Ronaldinho - I fell in love with this kid back in Copa America 1999 when he came on as a sub vs Venezuela. Extremelly skillfull player and as Garrincha mentioned before he continues the tradition that we have of producing the most skillfull players in the world. Glad to see he has matured to be one of the best AMC's in the world and I still don't think he's reached his full potential. Always laughed at people who questioned his talent and attituded. Hats off to Roni.

Kaka' - Amazing talent. He was one of the best players in Brasil for the past 2 years. Everyone expected him to become one of the world's best in a couple of seasons but his immediate impact at Milan just proves he is just ahead of his time. Not many players can come into Italy and do what he's done, and he is tactically very good which goes well with the load of talent that he has.

Kaka & Ronaldinho! :star:
