Juninho, desperate to find a new club before the start of the season, will consider approaches from Portugal but he is reluctant to ply his trade in Greece or his native Brazil.

Middlesbrough are trying to re-sign the former Sao Paulo star, and they remain one option for the 27-year-old, and he has already trimmed down some of the possibilities.

AEK Athens made a firm offer to Atletico, and Olympiakos also want the player, but Juninho is opposed to playing in the Greek league.

A return to Brazil has also been discarded by the player, even though his father, and adviser, Oswaldo, has received numerous approaches from South America.

Porto and Benfica have showed some interest in Juninho, and he is said to be willing to go to Portugal, but Boro boss Bryan Robson must fancy his chances of persuading him to settle in Teesside.

No Spanish clubs have yet made an offer and, as he only has two years left on his contract, a move away from Madrid is an inevitability.

Olympiakos never wanted and never made a bid for Juninho. It was just rumors.Zetteberg was their target from the start.Litmanen and Juninho were just names thrown at the press as a smokescreen.Very smart transfr tactic...

AEK DID have some interest in Juninho but they were not prepared to meet his wage demands. All this about not wanting to play in Greece is bull****,they just didnt give him the money he wanted. So AEK will probably get Tsartas who is better anyway...

i LOVE juninho, but i agree that he should keep his mouth shut and stay at 'boro because he has not done anything on the field in a long time. but, ze da fiel, you are wrong: he was playing good football in 1997 and early 1998 when he got hurt.
