The bulls hit on this forum about Trap being a tactical moron is aplenty. However in the last couple of days I've been following an event that really makes me wonder. In the days before the game with Mexico, Nesta was subjected to "infiltrations", localized injections of painkillers and anti-inflammatories, in order to allow him to take his place in the final game of the first round. The result was an aggravation of the injury, and now his availability for the upcoming game is seriously in doubt. The answer? More "infiltrations" to numb his foot and get him to face Korea.
What kind of shape will he be in for the game against Spain if this medieval treatment is continued? I'm convinced that Italy can beat Korea without Nesta, but Nesta is essential for overcoming the Spanish obstacle. I say rest him now, give his martyred foot a chance to really heal, and play him when he's really needed. It would be immensely stupid to lose him at this stage. You reckon?
