I was chatting with my dad last night about out fans at the moment. A section of them are really doing my head in. I think it took about 30 minutes of the opening game against Brighton to start booing and it hasn't stopped since. I swear some of them only turn up to games to boo, moan and as an excuse to hurl abuse.

Some of the players seem to be singled out for extra abuse, Bradley Johnson seems to be getting it the worst at the moment, Tom Ince, Chris Baird and Chris Martin get plenty, as do Nick Blackman and Darren Bent.

Of course all teams have their fans that moan a lot, but ours seem really bad at the moment, a lot worse than they were when Nigel Clough was manager, and we did well of we finished mid table.

I am critical when I think there is reason to be. But I don't go overboard ns make it personal, I don't think so anyway.

I'm not a fan of the boo boys, don't see what they hope to achieve by it, the players were booed by some as they came out for the second half last night.

Getting close and missing out and the money spent last year has raised expectations, perhaps to an unrealistic level?

Some of our fans are acting like right bell ends at the moment. There's always some that do anyway, but it seems like silly season at the moment.

I've always said what a great atmosphere we'd have at games if people put as much effort into getting behind the team, as they did with booing and moaning.

Some sections seem to adore the Clough era players that are still here and slag off all the new players no matter what they do.

Like Rick says, I think expectations have gone through the roof and some people are expecting us to dazzle all comers with barcelonaesque football and win the league at a canter. In the real world, we are a second division team.

Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooo :D
This is a classic case of delayed booing: (Your countryman?) Jackson Irvine scored ten minutes before you posted :yess: .

I didn't hear any booing from the Derby fans at the Pirelli. Do they reserve it for home games?:D

There's no real tradition of booing among Brewers fans, but you never know: It could happen if we start sliding towards the trapdoor marked "relegation", though I don't recall hearing any boos when we were on the slippery slope back in the last days of Peschisolido. It's a difficult issue. Outside football, you moan if the product is poor. Football is different because of the loyalty factor, but fans can't be expected to have infinite patience.

COYB (used to be COYR, but right now I prefer watching the Brewers).

Yeah, it's more of an issue for home games. The boos have rung around pride park at half time in both home games so far, we've gone for the whole of some dreadful seasons without that happening. So for it to happen on the opening 2 home games is a tad strange. There seems to be a section of fans that just don't want to accept Pearson, and the same could be said about Clement last season. Exactly who these people want as a manager I'm not sure.

The away fans, especially in a smaller turnout tend to be a bit more die hard and will back the team whatever.

Yes. Pearson didn't lay the foundations at Leicester overnight. The Derby board should be patient.

Boo Watch: More boos at Pride Park last night (if press reports are to be believed) at the close of a 1-0 defeat by Ipswich.

It's quite funny, it was a lively start and the fans got behind the team I be fair. Ipswich'a goal les to a stunned silence for a bit, but as we through everything forward the fans got behind the team again.

The final whistle was met with probably the loudest chorus of boos of the season. Blackmans miss right at the end probably didnt help.
