HOLA to all Barca fans and lovers..

its my 1st ever thried to write in this forum and I hope it would be as good as I wish.

I wanted to post my view of what happening in the Transfer window this season, and how its all going on for other teams, and what is going on with barcelona!?

we wanted a DM - Defender - Striker - winger

there was a lot of roumers and names that will make about 100 list that linked to the team in the coming winter break and the transfer window opened
and all we see it, NO-NO-NO!!! :sweeteye: :sweeteye: :sweeteye:

we was linked to players for loan!! :glasses:

ok we have a great squad but that was befor the injuries cricies that strcok the team, from the start of the season.

Takinardi - Anelka - Crew - and the list go on till we see the name of Iaquinta !! :hangover: :hangover:

and we see other teams signed players and they played already with thier new teams.

Liverpool signed Belligrino and Morientes and they are playing in thier derby against Man. United.

Real "shit" madrid signed the great danish Gravesen, whom I see is the best choise that Barca fail to gain with 3.5 Million, while we are hunting and old Italian as Takinardi that could cost us 4 Million!! :hangover: :frownani:

so in this case we are talking about losing a lot in the coming 2 weeks
we'll need to sign a good striker plus a good DM or Defender, and no matter how much it cost, cause winning titles will gain us money.

if we think about dept that the team used to be in, we should have faith that the team will go throw it this time also.

so the question that buts it self in front of us all as Barca fans is

1- are we need a new signing for good or a player for loan for the coming part of the season?

2- as we see players are saying "NOOO!!!" for loan specialy they know they are talking about Barcelona, what is the right choise in this case?

3- are we in the part that we need to cut of some of our on-loan players and get them back to Camp Nou? "Sergio Garcia, Saviola, Oscar Loperz"

and I hope this thried isn't the last I wrigt, and I'm sorry for the too much english miss spelling :)

with all love and respect

Its true we missed out on alot of players.. Charisteas for example, he went to Ajax for approximatly 3,5 million. Also Gravesen indeed.

I'm hoping we sign Iaquinta, so we have someone as a decent backup striker after Larsson retires in 2006. And we can give Sergio Garcia the place of 3rd striker in 2006.

Also I'm hoping we can sign Davids once again, he knows the team, he turned the team around once, he can do it again. The media say Davids has problems with his coach, so he might leave for a relatively small fee.

Saviola should be sold in the summer, because his contract runs out in 2006. So unless he renewes his contract this summer, he must leave because now we can get some money from a transfer to fund another transfer.

Yes, we do need some players, since we're playing with 12 people lately and I think that this is not enough. I don't care if they come on loan or signed, but we need someone. The problem is the same of always: money. Our economic situation is not good, so we can't spend huge amounts of money in bringing players, because the club must survive. We need to sign, but we must keep the head cool. We know what Gaspart did and we don't want to go back to that situation, I guess.

I guess that if there's a good player available in a reasonable price, then the club could do an effort. But as Rijkaard said, signing just for signing, it's stupid. Besides we must buy the players for the appropiate positions. Rijkaard knows what he wants to sign. He already rejected Saviola, because he prefers a tank striker. IMO, Sergio García does not reach the level to play in Barcelona and Oscar Lopez's position is covered.

Sergio Garcia does not like 1on1 situations, he passes the ball away as soon as he encounters another defender..

But for the economic situation, doesn't the club have lots of ground property? I thought Barcelona would be one of the richest clubs if it sold all of its ground property that it doesn't use.

Well you know Real Madrid sold its ground property but I read that the city Madrid bought it at a very high price to save the club, I don't think that Barca should do the same.
But if you need money, why are you playing without any sponsor?

That's not selling your jersey, but making money of your reputation. Well, you need to have one of course, to make the deal interesting for potential partners and i mean here some more serious ones than that Viagra offer, you got last year. :D

Yes, there are several ground properties. One of them are in Sant Joan Despí, where the club has planned to built the Ciutat Esportiva (Sport City) with trainment grounds for the youth system and the first team. I know that there were legal problems with them and I don't know which is their current situation. I read somewhere that the youth system is supposed to go there in September. In any case, the club is not going to use for different purposes the properties of Les Corts, near the stadium, until the situation of Sant Joan Despí gets clear. In that case, the current trainment grounds could be destined to different purposes that could allow Barça to increase the incomes.

Besides, the club also owns some properties in Can Rigalt in L'Hospitalet. I'm not totally sure, but I think that Barça wanted to do a real estate operation there that could give us 24 million €, but if I'm not wrong, the situation of these properites also have legal problems.

The problem is that I don't live in Barcelona right now and I'm talking from what I recall, maybe Roger or any other could help us.

In any case, you're not richer just for selling the ground properties. You just change a kind of property for another one. Actually, selling grounds for cash is not such a great operation. You may have more liquidity, but the club is going to lose a property that usually won't lose its value. If you spend that money in a bad signing, you're indeed poorer. I don't know if you understand what I mean. Let's say an example, if Barça sells the grounds of the Camp Nou, they would get a lot of cash, a lot of money... but you are not richer, you change a stadium for cash and that's all. Imagine that you get 100 millions (for example) and you spend them in bad signings, then the price of these players fall the next summer to 70 millions, you're losing "money".The success or not depends on how you spend this money. One thing is liquidity and another one is richness.

Real Madrid's operation was great for them because the Town Hall of Madrid overpaid the grounds of their Ciudad Deportiva. This is a problem of the citizens of that city. They got a lot of cash at that time and they could avoid bankrupcy. That money allowed them to buy players that brought them a lot of incomes from marketing, TV rights, etc. But now Real Madrid is training in the grounds of the Spanish FA, because they don't have their own trainment fields yet. Actually, they're building another one and this is going to suppose a lot of money for them.

Finally, I would not like to see the sponsor in our shirt, but if there's not another solution, then go on. As I've said, this is going to depend of which are the priorities of the club and its members.

Just one more thing, selling properties is okay, but I don't want the Government of Catalunya or any other public institution overpaying to Barcelona, because there are other priorities, IMO. Personally, I think that Televisió de Catalunya pays too much money to Barcelona for the TV rights, the public money should not go to pay football stars, but for schools, hospitals, security and social justice.

What does the catalan TV pay for the tv rights?
I don't know the exact amount, but lots of millions. Again I have no sources, but I think that it was near 60 millions per season. Although not everything is paid for Televisio de Catalunya. This issue is a mess because the owners of the rights of La Liga are Audiovisual Sports, a company owned by Sogecable (Cana+), Telefonica and Televisio de Catalunya. Barça also has its own TV Channel (Barça TV) in Digital+ (Canal+) and they also get a percentage of the Pay per view matches.

Okay... I found it. Audiovisual Sports pays 54 million € per season and the 20% of that company is owned by Televisio de Catalunya and the rest only by Sogecable (not Telefonica, as I've said before). All this money is paid by TVC and only for the matches of Liga and Copa, the CL rights have a different regime. TVC also pays 12,5 million € per season to Espanyol. Too much money for a public channel, IMO.

Wow, 54 million is alot for television rights!! I guess we're paying the players salaries with that.

Another question; does Barcelona own parts of the players image rights? I know Real Madrid owns 50% of Beckhams image rights..

Laporta said that this was one of the objectives of his Board, but I'm not sure. I hope so, because lately Ronaldinho is the star of the TV commercials, at least in Spain... I saw him in the Nike ones, but also in Trident and the image of La Liga last season in the TV commercial where he broke the window of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. I guess that the new contracts are this way now, since everyone are doing so.

HOLA ALL

I know I've been away for sometime.

yet when I ment we need Sergio Garcia, for on reason is that we couldn't buy any new player
at least we should have one sub. for ETO'O or GUILY,

Inesta is more in midfield than being attacking choise, at least we could use Sergio Garcia in the Attacking right for some reason, I think this player just need a good coach like Rijakrd to deal with em.

and for the choises that tha club putting on the table in the main time, aren't working fine, so we should use what we can, we have too meny big games, and a lot to do in the coming 5 monthes, specialy in the CL

I'll say the team should push it up faster.

and in these days, there is couple of names I've seen coming up

Albartini the Italian player former AC Milan and Atelitco Madrid player!

and still we couldn't have a say about Iquinta??

I wish things go faster and smother for Barca In the coming weeks

I thought i could share this, quite interesting hypothesis;

RONALDINHO SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM BEACH

Ronaldinho's current dip in form is the subject of intense speculation on the Iberian peninsula.

Apparently the Brazilian maestro and FIFA World Player of the Year spent the winter break with his personal trainer doing fitness work on the sandy beaches of Cataluna and Brazil, against the instructions of his club.

According to sources of Marca, the Spanish sports daily, training on sand, whilst good for building muscle and fitness levels, can be detrimental to your speed and sharpness.

These are the qualities that Ronaldinho relies on for his potency and, significantly, has been lacking in recent matches.

Whether the diagnosis is accurate or not, Ronaldinho's form is worrying.

Rijkaard has been trying to encourage his star player and relieve him of the pressure that he is under to recapture the form that astounded the football world during the second half of last season.
