O.k so we've been linked with that greek right back from POAK, what I want to know is what is wrong with portuguese players we already have an excellent right back in esteves who has been pretty good for setubal all season and has been excellent in toulon, is it not worth putting some faith in these young portuguese players, this is not only a problem with esteves there was candido a very promising player who was sold to salguieros and is now at porto their waas deco who we didnt have the courage to try out but porto did and has been one of their stars this season we have pepa who has hardly touched a ball ribeiro is an excellent left back but yet no doubt we will get a froeigner to fill the role.
This guy has serious lack of faith in portuguese players!

Unfortunately it's not just Heynckens. There are loads of poor quality foreign players in Portugal. It's easyer to get someone from abroad who already has some experience, than to bet on young players starting their careers.
That is WHEN there are any at all, since in many clubs there is no tradition of club school (make the players in the club, from infantis to juniors and then seniors)
