I got this from DM, it was posted a few days ago (Dec 24). So what do we make of this? Is it a speculation or is there some truth behind it? If this rumour was from say Calciomercato or Tuttosport, I wouldn't have bothered. But coming from la Gazzetta dello Sport, it makes me wonder as la Gazzetta are not reknown for being BS-Speculator specialists. They only report things that are credible. :lala::eekani:

Ronaldo To Milan Rumours Back In Full Force
12/24/2004 12:27:00 PM
Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport is reporting that Real Madrid might opt to sell Ronaldo to AC Milan in exchange for Gilardino. :dazed::eekani:
The man behind what would be an incredible deal, especially given Ronaldo’s Interista past, is Real Madrid’s new technical director Arrigo Sacchi.

Sacchi is a huge admirer of Gilardino, who he brought to Parma.

It appears the Rossoneri already have signed the Parma striker for next season, even though there is no official confirmation on this.

If the operation takes place, it will happen next June.

Presidente,
What's the scoop behind this? :stress::eekani:

Ronaldo may not be what he used to be, but still while being fat and lazy, there are few strikers better than him today. Only a handful to be exact.

He's a man tailor-made for the big games as he's shown it throughout his career that in the big games, he usually is present and makes an impact. I also admire a lot Gilardino as he is Italian, young and reminds me of a younger and overall better Pippo Inzaghi. But the thought of having a line made of Ronaldo and Sheva is simply too good to resist. Can you imagine Ronaldo having a hat trick in a future Derby?:jester::howler:

I'm confused. Royally. :stress::lala:

Cheers.;)

You don't need Ronaldo his better years are behind him and he only has a couple of years left whereas Gilraldino has his whole future ahead of him.

Gilardino, Ronaldo...why always central strikers...as if we don't have enough of them....

We need players like Jankulovski, Solari, Vicente and Maniche (not all of them together).

last thing we need is ronaldo now

sheva is the centre here....and we need a support man and since we are getting a central striker here might as well be GILA who is younger over ronaldo who i cant stand

I'm not much of a fan of Ronaldo...as a matter of fact, he is one of my least favourite players. But I wouldn't mind seeing him wearing Milan shirt. He is an excellent player. No-one can deny that.
But of course that rumour is BS, there is no reason whatsoever why Real should be interested in such a deal, as Gilardino is nowhere near as good as Ronaldo, he is also unproven in top level and doesn't have much marketing value. This story might have appeared on Gazzetta, but it's bullshit nevertheless.

Payman :star: as I believe that next years new striker will be Gilardino (IMO should this happen I believe he will partner well with Sheva), I will spare my thoughts on Ronaldo should the rumour become more consistant.

What I make of this as much as I respect La Gazzetta,It means to me total Merda the Milan fans would'nt want that mercenary at Milan and he'd cause disharmony in the dressing rooms.Gila is our future and will be far worth it.
He can stick his marketing circus with Real Merdarid,we don't need to go along those lines.

Unlikely rumour, IMO. But I must say that I'll never say no to a former Inter player. Especially one with Ronaldos class. Remember the pale shadow that was Inters Seedorf?

I have full faith in Ancelotti (and Milan Lab) when it comes to Ronaldo. In fact, I have so much faith in Carlos abilities that I think AC Milan is the absolutely best club Ronaldo can transfer to. Yeah, he's a mercenary but he's a mercenary that no doubt can contribute to us winning a few UCL and Scudetto.

Quivering,

I agree with your post totally. Ronaldo is a lethal finisher be it goals or burgers! He is dangerous in front of both. I wouldn't mind him in Milan but there is one niggling feeling I have -> Ronaldo is cursed and will never win the European Cup. :eekani: I dunno but this feeling doesn't go away. ;) Call it superstition / gut instinct or whatever but this is what I feel.

Milan Lab + Ancelotti would be good for Ronnie IMO. He might rediscover his Barca form.

;)
Maybe, but let's sign "hungry" Gilardino ;)
