Well, we might as well start getting used to life in Serie B. :sigh:

The season ends this Sunday, June 2. [You know you're in hicksville when your soccer league holds matches during the World Cup!]

The promoted teams have already been determined:
Modena, Como, Empoli and Reggina have clinched promotion to Serie A. They will be replaced next year by the relegated teams from Serie A: Verona, Lecce, Venezia, and, of course, :broken:Fiorentina:broken:.

There is a fierce relegation battle going on this Sunday, as three teams are tied on points for the 4th relegation position: Messina, Siena, and Cosenza. [Already too far down to avoid the drop to Serie C1 are: Pistoiese, Cittadella, and Crotone.] If Messina, Siena and Cosenza all win their final game this Sunday, the fourth relegated team could be Ternana, Cagliari, or Genoa.

The other teams in Serie B are Napoli, Salernitana, Bari, Sampdoria, Vicenza, Palermo, and Ancona.

Four teams are being promoted from Serie C1. Near as I can make out, Livorno and Ascoli are two of them for sure; the others are being determined by a playoff tournament.

If Messina, Siena and Cosenza all win their final game this Sunday, the fourth relegated team could be Ternana, Cagliari, or Genoa.

They all did win, and overtook Ternana, who lost. As a result, Ternana is relegated.

Rather unfortunate for Ternana to go down given their high expectations and sound team. That shows how tight things were down in Serie B. It also means you need to be very, very careful down there as heaven knows what's in store for you there next season.

Certainly newcomers Ascoli, Livorno, Catania and Triestina will be hoping to learn from the example of Modena and Como and rise to the challenge.

My dear Jeff...
Fiorentina is coping with the worst problem a Club colud have to face with: its own President!

He is under investigation for using ina wrong way the money of the club (private debts... supposed use of drugs... offering diamonds'n'jewels to his new partner, a quite famous (in Italy) actress).

It seems to be true Fiorentina couldn't be able to sign its name for the Serie B Championship!

All the best players, including "Chicco" Chiesa, are going to be sold less of their real value!

It's terrible.
