Sunday 14:30

First game of the season. Nothing to look forward to after our pre-season campaign which resulted in us failing to beat one professional side.

This apparently will be the starting line-up. Tomasson and de Guzman will be playing provided they pass their fitness tests (which is expected)

Bench: Darley, Fer, vaseline man, bum, kid 1, kid 2, kid 3

Would personally prefer to see Fer ahead of Bruins as I think the last has lost it a bit.

Very important to see de Guzman back though. A moment of magic from him from a free-kick or well taken corner could prove to be the difference if we're to get a positive result from here.

Hahaha...love the bench: vaseline man, bum, kid 1, kid 2....

I suspect the bum = Buijs. Vaseline man = Biseswar or Erasmus?

I agree with the Fer for Bruins suggestion. Fer looked rough at times during the Rotterdam tournament, but he has fire in his belly, i.e. that fighting spirit which cannot be coached but definitely is necessary for winning sides. Kind of like what Bosvelt brought to the team.

Any chance that Feyenoord will show this match via streaming on the internet??

Vaseline man = Hofland with his eyebrows and yeah Buijs = the bum

Tomasson probably won't be there (left yesterdays training after just 20 minutes) so Mols and Biseswar it'll be lol

Looking forward to seeing Feyenoord play now, although I've heard nothing but negative talk from people in Rotterdam so far. See that half the team is out injured and chilling in the stands. Here's to a good start, I think yesterday's result already secured half the deal, now let's finish the job. :thumbsup:

Did the match start at 1:30pm, or is Dutch time NOT +1 hour from Greenwich? I tuned in 20 minutes late thinking that I had another 40 minutes before match time.

Dutch time is +1 hour from GMT in winters, but we're currently on Daylight Saving Time.

Okay, I get it. USA has Daylight Savings Time also; didn't think any other country used it.

1-1 at the half. Why did De Cler drift so far to the right side of the goal when he is the LEFT back??

As for the game, I watched it live.

Having seen the pre-season friendlies I was expecting us to be weak but with Verbeek saying that he'd try to play attacking football, I at least was expecting a bit of urgency today. Instead we got to see a Feyenoord sitting back and having just 40% of possession. Actually we just got outplayed. Nothing more need be said.

Ratings:

Timmer - 7 - made a couple of decent saves or it'd have been 4 or 5-1

Greene - 5 - made Darl Douglas look like a world beater. Rightfully subbed at HT
Landzaat - 5 - Great determination shown in the 3rd goal:rollani:
Bahia - 6 - Not bad
de Cler - 5 - Disappointing from a usually good player

Fer and Wijnaldum - 5 - talents but not the guys who'd help us in this state. Gave away possession poorly in some instances
Van Bronckhorst - 6 - Determined performance
De Guzman - 6 - Ok. Silly red card though
Bruins - 5 - looks lost

Mols - 6,5 - one of our best players. Was dangerous at times in the 1st half

Subs:

Biseswar - tries his best but just not good enough
Buijs - a hack as always

oh yes and what's with this stuff from the judoka and de Guzman about the elbow not being intentional? makes us look even more ridiculous than we are with this result
