A match in Armenia will be a good test of the squad's mental toughness...

The rest of the squad just needs to stay calm if things aren't going perfectly. Someone like Ayhan is the wrong kind of attitude for this match, and can spark an absolute riot.

On paper the overall talent in the Turkish squad is better than the Armenian squad. It's all a matter of who can play football and block out the rest of the crap that is sure to be flying around this match...

You're absolutely right. This is where I believe not having Yildiray, Nihat and Hamit is going to hurt us as they have that confidence and experience.
In the Germany game at the Euro our young players went out with a "nothing to lose" attitude so they were able to relax and just play some football. This time its "all to lose".

I definitely dont think this match is going to be a walkover. Armenia will sit back and break down our game then wait for a counter attacking opportunity. If we score early, we will force them to open up and then we can rack up a big score.

The outcome of this match will depend on the first 30mins.

No Hamit, and possibly no Aurelio and Emre. Who will play centre midfield ????

I've got my money on Topal and Inan if Aurelio and Emre are out.

The Belgium game will be shown on Setanta at 2.30pm on Thursday.

I couldnt see any links of any pay-per-view matches on the Australia Setanta site. Maybe they have scrapped them now as they have enough subscribers and enough money.

The poor Turks here will either have their fingers crossed that Setanta shows the match on tv, or they will have to find an internet stream.

I can see myself using secveseyret.com often. It looks like they have a max 650Kbps stream though, anyone know of any pay football stream sites that have a really good stream???

Theres some competition for the right wing: Kazim, Serdar, Mehmet Topuz, Gokdeniz. (Judging by Terim's Euro 2008 player selections I would say Kazim will get the nod)

I like the formation (4-2-3-1). I would have Gokhan Gonul instead of Ibrahim Kas, Gokhan Zan instead of Polat and I would also switch Arda and Tuncay.

A few days ago when the squad was still getting together after their league matches, several turkish newspapers said that Aurelio had picked up only a slight injury but still wouldnt join up with the team even though there was a big chance he could play in the upcoming matches. There were a number of readers who posted their negative comments about Aurelio.

The next day after these articles, Aurelio did indeed join up with the squad and he is now risking himself to play in our first game. I hope this has made those readers swallow their words. DONT BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ IN THE NEWSPAPER is the clear message.

We had our last training session before the game and both Arda and Aurelio didnt train with the team.

Thats where the Mevlut-Semih duo must of come about. Without Arda, Terim will probably play Tuncay on the left wing instead of as attacker (leaving room for Mevlut to come into the starting 11).
