Meh doesn't really matter who plays out left when it comes to Pivaric or Strinic. They both suck. Leovac seems to be next in line though as he;s on the stand by list. Bradaric over Pasalic though? At least Pasalic is on stand by. :D

Suho, dont leave us.

Agreed on the LB situation. Could careless who starts between Pivaric, Leovac or Strinic. All below average. Just hope we can 'mask' that weak spot when we play Ukraine.

Well, I disagree , Strinic is twice the player / even though average/ he's fairly solid defensively despite the blunder at the Euro's , whilst pivaric is just crap ..... Leovac is below average too.

Why not try Jedvaj on RB and Vrsaljko as LB, then we would have a solid defensive line, Cacic is to dumb to realize that though - something like :

Jedvaj - Corluka -Vida- Vrsaljko

That would install confidence and no obvious weakness in our defense desite Sime playing out of his natural position, but pivaric will be targeted over and over any coach will suss this out straight away ... our LB situation needs an alternative medicine solution hope Cacic sees that and quits using pivaric ffs.

at this point and as much as I used to be a fan of Strinic (he did well in 2012), I'm not as convinced about him anymore. he does have more experience than the others do and I do think he can fill the void, but something about his care-free demeanor on the field just doesn't sit well with me anymore.

I'm not a fan of displacing Vrsaljko to accommodate Jedvaj, I'd probably rather see him playing in his regular position and use Strinic or someone accustomed to playing there. on that note, Vrsaljko was not very good when he did play left back, I remember him giving his opponents the inside lane because he was uncomfortable giving them the outside...towards his left, cause its his weaker side.

yeah its not ideal but pivaric is an accident waiting to happen imo, if Conte or someone Italian was looking at our squad they woukd have sussed out a system that works for our NT, maybe three at the back like the Italians used to play ... ? Corluka did quite well vs Turkey as LB,maybe Jedvaj who has featured for Leverkusen as LB could be a makeshift solution, anything but that clown .....

I wouldn't be against Jedvaj on the outside, he's a sturdy player. I'd be afraid for Corluka to get exposed.

As a plan B, I think we should give Jedvaj more time out wide and maybe have him on the right and Vrsaljko on the left.

I wouldn't try that in the Ukraine game, but might as well experiment during the Estonia friendly.

Its easier to crack the first 11 at Milan and Monaco than make Cacic's top 30.

Bradaric? :shades:

No clue why Vedran was never user at LB ever again? We have some cover at CB even without Lovren, never figured why they never went back to him?

Wasn't that Turkey game where Vedran played LB in 2011? :D

At this point now, can anyone see a 31 year old Corluka flying up and down the wing? :howler: Even when he was younger, he didn't have a lot of pace now. No way could he hang on the wing.

A lot of our attack is based off play on the wings and having guys like a Perisic and prior to his retirement, Srna pushing the envelope and taking on defenders and swinging crosses in. Not sure that is Corluka's strength at this point.

Orkan, you're right. Pasalic should be a starter for this qualifier. Shame on Cacic and the staff. Modric or Rakitic should ride the bench for this one. Or perhaps Perisic?

Orkan for NT manager :proud:

Yes please I think this is at least worth a try. Vrsaljko has experience playing LB and is quality while Jedvaj has experience playing RB and is also quality. All of our other LB options just simply aren't on the same level as the rest of the team

Edit: At the very least I'd like to see how we go playing Vrsaljko on the left and Jedvaj on the right. It can't be any worse than what we have had in the recent past and could potentially be very good. In an ideal world our youngsters like Sosa and Anocic have breakout years but I can't see that happening in time for the WC. Cacic has until then to test things out.

Actually Pasalic has cracked top 30. 23 players called up with Pasalic next on the list if someone in midfield gets injured.

And I think its a little harder to get in the starting lineup in midfield for Croatian than Milan or Monaco. Just a little bit.
