Oh dear God, as soon as I seen Phil Neville's and Heskey's names I almost had a heart attack.

Here's what I would personally pick.

Code:
                     Kirkland

Hargreaves Terry Campbell Ashley Cole

Beckham Gerrard Scholes Joe Cole

                 Owen Defoe

I'll probably have a different team next week though. ;)

Maybe Lampard Out, Parker in... swap Gerard and Parker.. We shall see. Also Robinson for Kirkland if he don't get a game at pool. + Maybe Defoe for Rooney.

i don't want to leave Lamps out but i rate Ginge higher and i think the Roonster is our best bet for wide left,if either fail to perform though Fatarsed Franky would be in. ;)

If Rooney was played on the left he'd be wasted, i've seen him play outwide for Everton this year and he is definately not a natural winger. He has the game to play just about anywhere but i feel he'd be stronger playing behind Owen.

Rooney can easily play wide left,he has the engine and loves to cut in from there, ask Wes Brown :D

I don't think it's wise to judge him on Everton games as he has been pretty poor in any position he has played unless he comes on as sub when there is more room.

Woodgate/Terry ....very close call but i go for Woodgate because he is that bit quicker and isn't as one footed as Terry.

Yes i'd say so - he'd do a job on the left. We can't afford to play the diamond formation against everyone, sometimes it works well and at other times it seems like a tatical nightmare. Smith would also give us more from an attacking perspective. I'd also consider playing him upfront with Owen and Rooney behind them in friendlies to see how that turns out.

So we have Portugal next wednesday? I'd expect us to lose, i just don't expect good results when we play friendlies.

Alan Smith "doing a job on the left" isn't good enough in my opinion. We have much better options for that position than sticking Alan Smith out there. Why not play someone like Bridge on the left? He is left footed and an excellent crosser and would link up well with Cole.

Agree with the rest of your post though.

We don't have a Good left footed mildfielder, "Doing a job on the left" is as good as it gets at the moment. I could have chosen a few players, but with Smith he'll give his all and be a threat. I can't see Sven playing anything other than a midfielder on the left and playing a left back is out of the question.

Does anyone think Beattie will get his customary 12minutes on the pitch to show his international worth? :howler:
