Gresko (30) earned 34 caps and scored twice. In friendly vs.Slovenia 3 years ago suffered serious knee injury that almost ended his career.

He decided to focus on his current club Bayer Leverkusen.

Thanks for all Vrati and good luck in the rest of your football career.

I dont get these retirements...
I think one should retire for all at once, instead of making these announcements about NT. It's not like he won anything with Slovakia and now feels fulfilled in his career. Actually Slovakia has a pretty doable group for WC 2010 and he might have a chance to play in a major tournament, unless he doesnt care about that...

he´s 30 and not 100% healthy. During the WC 2010 he´ll b 33 and younger Left-Backs like Marek Čech (FC Porto) or Ján Ďurica (Saturn Ramenskoe) desiring for starting position as well. If Slovakia make it there is little to no chance he´d play.

Had the potential to be a top-class left-back, but bad attitude essentially killed any chance of that.

Still, a good player with a lovely, delicate left foot who generally played well for Slovakia.

His career went downhill when his failure led to an overtime loss at Lazio in last Round and Internazionale lost the title. It broke his heart and he was never the same player as before.
