Any info on this player? I know he is Ilija's younger brother (this is most likely how we got him). We just signed him after his contract ended with Borussia Monchengladbach (SP?). This guy any good? He only played 4 games for Borussia and scored 1 goal. I am hearing some positive things about him

Ha ha :D

Yes, Vlada Ivic the great talent...well he was very good for Partizan at one point but then become more or less useless (he had an injury and then when he came back he didn't really contribute much) and as you can see didn't do that well with Borussia MG. I don't know how good your midfield is, but at this point Ivic is just an average attacking midfielder.

Tell me how many more former Partizan players is AEK gonna sign? :D

Our midfield has its moments but lately its been non-existant... This guy sounds pretty much like Petkov (who had a good year but now is close to useless)...

*Hopefully comming to AEK can help him shape up again.

Hm...Ivic is - 28? I think. Anyways much like Malbasa as you can see he didn't play much the last 6 months so I think he will need time to regain his form. If your midfield is truly non-existant, once he does he might be able to make a positive impact. He'll most likely do well in Greek league matches, but I guess that's all your concerned about at the moment. Apparently he scored 1 goal in those four appearances for Borussia MG. Here are the stats. I think he's been called up for the NT maybe once or twice.

He was a very talented player with what seemed a great future. In fact, not too long ago Mattheus went as far as calling him, "Serbia's version of Ballack".. However, injuries, poor attitude and just bad work ethic have not allowed him to become what was expected of him.. In fact, I'll be honest with you, when he was playing for Partizan at times I would just totally flip at how lazy he would get. Doesn't run much and when he does he is very, very slow.

A shame to see such a talent go to waist...But unfortunately it's a re-ocurring theme in Serbian soccer ...

But hey, not to sound too negative, maybe he'll turn it around and play well for AEK? ;) Wish him and your club all the best anyways...

Wow, it looks as though AEK is becoming a PFC reject colony. :D Just kidding, Covert, not much to add but what Parni said above. He is a dead ball specialist as well. Just too slow and what everyone has said about his attitude sometimes.

However, there are a few (very good) reasons why he might actually do well at AEK. He wants to prove himself that he is not just another talent to go down the drain, he will be very keen and motivated. He is close to his bro and Malbasa and will feel like he is at home. (Germany would have been the last place where anyone would have thought Ivic would do well).

All in all, you got 2 players on a free. Low risk/high reward, especially with Ivic. He could explode. With the other guy (Malbasa) you just got a steady workhorse so don't expect anything exceptional. He has a powerful left shot as well by the way. Smart free signings IMO, good luck.
