The one who was Bella
I'm probably ending his career right here and now, sorry Garrincha, but this kid deserves a thread for over 2 months now and I think I held myself in check long enough.
Best well kept secret of the Brasilerao this year since the beginning and even before it in the regional league, but probably not kept that tight nowadays as he's really blazing through with each game that passes.
Still just 19, plays on every attacking positions - behind the striker, on either wing, and as a support striker aswell.
At his best when he's able to roam around, and make his moves from the wing inside - but also a very capable player moving off the ball either to receive the passes near the box, or receive from the midfield in the hole with his back to the goal and find the striker or dribble himself to the heart of the defense.
He's almost always in attack-mode, at times to a fault.
-Athletic fast and agile, creative, a trickster, decent passer at times especially in the final 3rd and in long passes, and he has an eye for making the creative pass to put someone infront of goal, especially with a lob (below average short passing I would say tho and not really someone looking to keep possession at all)
-Very good dribbler once he hits his strides(really lacks in first touch on the move, and doesn't always keep the ball close to him when he dribble which is his biggest flaw so far and reason why he loses the ball ALOT and can't always hold his dribble)
-Very good control of the ball close to his body when he's not moving or on small space.
-Absolutely FANTASTIC turning&trapping skills to free himself up as he receives the ball with his back and then starts his dribble, this is probably his 2nd greatest asset I feel...I'm sure he's one of the best in the world at that and I don't exaggerate, even tho It's a minor skill I feel it should be mentioned.
And the highlight of his game - his fantastic shooting ability with either foot and from almost any distance, that's starting to be the fear of GKs in Brazil slowly but surely, and makes him such an unexpected and almost immediate goal-threat whenever he reaches 30-25 meters from goal from either side of the pitch, as he hardly needs to prepare his shot and has great accuracy and power in it with both feet(so good that you don't know what his strong one is, which I think is his right - I say I think cause at times he even take indirect free kicks with his left) - combined with his dribble and speed that is just a winning trifecta and a devastating combination.
His breakthrough really reminds me of how Lucas broke into the scene a few years back(While I'm sure as his hype soon begins people will put his name next to Neymar as they usually do regardless of anything, but Lucas I think is a more apt comparison) - Vitinho I feel is a more complete player though in the sense that he really sees the pitch nicely from time to time and shows much better flashes(not always, sometimes he still keep the ball too long, or tries to dribble where he shouldn't) - but seem much more advance as far as his feel for the game and has more to offer and not a 1 trick pony, I think, which Lucas is.
Obviously not as fast and explosive, but in terms of overall game I feel he's better and thus his potential and improvement curve will be better aswell..also that shot of his with both feet is something not alot of people have.
He also has a very nice build(1.80) that with better work could really develop and help him physically and also improve him further athletically which would be a big advantage in the future.
Absolutely need to polish his game more to reach those high levels such as his first touch and keeping the ball closer to his body as he dribble, aswell as just decision making and it's surely not a given that he will(which case he'd still be a good player, won't be nearly as good as he can be) - but the future is very bright for this kid with hard work and continued maturing and experience.
He's really playing simply on raw talent right now.
Probably the next big thing out of Brazil, after the mass departure of young talents recently.
