Valencia have told Aston Villa that Romanian EURO 2000 striker Adrian Ilie is not for sale. Meanwhile, Ilie's agent has claimed that Villa have offered around £7.5m for his client, but Valencia are adamant that the 26-year-old will remain at the Mestalla Stadium.

I think Ilie will start up front with Carew next season. And you are right djferros about him not playing first team for most of last season because he has had problems with injuries and Cuper. But I expect him to be back to his best next season. You shall see.

Steaua is trying these days to sign Dennis Serban from Valencia on loan for one year. The player agreed with the move but Cuper rejected it as he wants him to the pre-season preparations starting on the 12th of July.

I think Ilie has just proved useless at valencia and should be sold. Villa isn't the answer of course, but somewhere in Italy he should come back to top form. Serban is good news, although i can't see him being a regular, didn't impress in Villarreal
