Italy underestimated Poland in '74, and most notably North Korea in '66...they underestimated Ireland in '94 - no real trouble from that one, Argentina in '90 ("we never lost to Argentina at home...") Chile in the first round four years ago, and France at the quarterfinals ("France is strong but has no winning tradition...") Now they obviously do...
