dumb planet football article...
Vieria would never go, he loves Arsenal and he won't be sold.

JUVE DETERMINED TO LAND VIEIRA
by Patrick Haond

PATRICK VIEIRA is being linked with a surprise move to Juventus, with sources in France suggesting that the Arsenal bad-boy may be on the move in the summer.

Arsene Wenger must be getting increasingly frustrated with reports from the continent stating that his key men will be leaving. Dennis Bergkamp, Emmanuel Petit, Marc Overmars and Vieira have all been targeted by other clubs over the past year or so.

Bergkamp has pledged his future to Highbury, while Overmars is also set to stay, after Barcelona's long-standing interest in the left winger waned when Louis van Gaal decided to quit Camp Nou.

Petit has expressed an interest in playing for a top continental club, possibly Bayern Munich, although the latest reports from Germany indicate that the Bundesliga champions will not be making any more major expenditure this summer.

Furthermore, fresh claims on Thursday are that Barcelona are leading the chase for Petit, and that Wenger has already planned for his departure by snapping up Lauren Biscal from Real Mallorca.

That leaves Vieira. The talented but temperamental midfielder was sold prematurely by Milan, a fact that the San Siro club have acknowledged, and he has built a reputation as a world class performer at Highbury.

An impressive second half showing as a substitute in Croatia on Sunday, furthered the Senegal-born star's claims to make the French starting eleven, come Euro 2000, and more good performances in Holland and Belgium will enhance his reputation.

Our understanding is that Juve tried to include Vieira in the negotiations when Thierry Henry left Turin for North London last summer, but Wenger was adamant that his midfield powerhouse would not leave.

As he is under contract until 2004, The Gunners will again resist Juve's attempts to sign the player but Carlo Ancelotti is determined to pair him with the incomparable Edgar Davids at the heart of his midfield next season.

Luciano Moggi has already reportedly offered £6.66 million plus Sunday Oliseh for Vieira, but Arsenal are not interested in the Nigerian defender. Consequently, an approach worth around £14.75 million is believed to be winging its way to Highbury, in a determined bid to tempt the Londoners to sell one of their key figures.

I don't believe ONE BIT of it either, but Ancelotti has previously said that Viera was one of the most promising players for the position and Calciomercato was reporting that Juventus would bid 14mill.£ and then I suppose Oliseh would be a part of the bid as well.

Anyway- I can only hope :). I would obviously prefer Fiore because he's Italian :), but Davids, Viera and Zidane in front of them sounds nice to me :).

Transferseason....

Ciao.

I just read an article on the move. It doesn't surprise me that Juve wants him and is willing to pay such a large sum for him, but I doubt that Vieira will be leaving, especially now that Petit has said that he is happy at Highbury and isn't thinking about leaving.
i think if juve bids and arsenal accepts, vieira will move. he hasnt had the best of times in england, and after all the **** hes gotten from the fans, he wouldnt mind a move i reckon
but i want him to stay :)

LOOSE MOOSE
now when lauren joined it's likely petit or viera will leave.
I hope Vieira will stay. I think the 14.75 million bid won't be enough, but if Juve up the offer, I don't know...
I totally agree with Glen, Fiore is way better than Vieira. Are we talking about the same Vieira who plays for Arsenal? I can't believe u all think he is good, he is shocking!!! I'd rather spend the money on Fiore and why do we need Vieira if we have Tacchinardi who is better than Vieira.
Correction...

As the Vieira rumour persist (a least in Italian papers:)) I would just like to point out that CUG does not in any way agree with me :).
I think Vieira is the better player, but I'd prefer Fiore solely because he's Italian. Getting either of them would make me jubilant though.

Ciao.
