Matarazzo got tired of Klimowitz as well, I see.
Yeah, he has been bringing Massimo in earlier lately, rather than Didavi or Klimowicz. Massimo is fast, but not so good at ball control yet. Once he gets that down, he will be a dangerous option on the right side. When Massimo comes in, Matarazzo has Silas move to the left side.

Disappointing 1-1 draw at home against out-of-form Hertha Berlin. Sosa free kick headed in by Kalajdzic. Wamangituka very quiet on the right side; most offense went down the left through Sosa and Thommy. The inability to keep a clean sheet against lower level sides greatly hurts them.

Wamangituka 11 - 3
Kalajdzic 9 - 3
Gonzalez 6 - 2
Didavi 2 - 3
Sosa 0 - 5

Eeked out a 0-1 away win at FC Cologne. Sosa free kick headed in by Kalajdzic. Other than that, not much offense created. Kobel and defenders finally got another (rare) clean sheet. Three away points counter balances the poor home record.

Wamangituka 11 - 3
Kalajdzic 10 - 3
Gonzalez 6 - 2
Sosa 0 - 6
Didavi 2 - 3
Castro 3 - 1

Keep up the enthusiastic reports, teak :p
Well okay then. :)

Week 23: 8-8-7 32 points

VfB picked up only their second home win of the season with a 5-1 thrashing of Schalke. Endo with a man-of-the-match performance with two goals and two assists. First goal, he side footed in a Sosa right-side corner at the back left post. Second goal, he side-footed in a Castro left-side corner at the back right post. Schalke should learn to mark the back post area, eh?

Third goal was another Sosa cross from the left side, in off the head of Kalajdzic. Fourth goal, Klement took an Endo pass, turned and fired in on the left side of the goal. Final goal, Didavi took an Endo pass, and hit a rocket in from just outside the box.

Kobel didn't get a clean sheet, but he did save a penalty kick, his second of the season. Sosa picked up his 7th and 8th assists of the season. The Bundesliga is now starting to take notice of him and his connection with Kalajdzic.

Klement scored his first ever Bundesliga goal.

Goals - Assists
Wamangituka 11 - 3
Kalajdzic 11 - 3
Gonzalez 6 - 2
Sosa 0 - 8

Draw against Frankfurt is a very decent result.
Most certainly. Eintracht were the most in-form squad prior to their loss to Werder Bremen last week, so a point in Frankfurt is a good result for VfB. If Stuttgart is my #1 team to follow in the Bundesliga, then Frankfurt is my #2 squad.

Eintracht have a nice attacking style. I would love to see Kostic and Jovic join VfB and play in the 2 spots just underneath the striker (3-4-2-1 formation, with 3 at the back). Those 2 have been the question mark for VfB this season. Lineup is pretty well set like this:

Kalajdzic (or Gonzalez when fit)
??-??
Sosa, Mangala, Endo, Wamangituka
Kempf, Anton, Mavropanos
Kobel

At ??-?? we have seen Castro, Klimowicz, Forster, Coulibaly, Thommy, Klement, Cisse, Massimo, and Churlinov. Matarazzo has yet to find the ideal duo for that position. He has played Forster there quite a bit lately, but Forster's performances haven't been too convincing. Coulibaly has great energy and so I like to see him start. Thommy has also impressed, but has been injury prone. So, Kostic and Jovic, IMHO, would be a great solution but I doubt that Eintracht would part with them.
