I think that Velez would love to sell Zarate to Real Madrid for at least US$2-3 million. It seems Real are not looking to purchase and will release Zarate at the end of the season.
Mendez, is a highly rated central defender. He is amongst the best Argentinean defenders of his generation. I think that he will have a very good future ahead of him, he is only 23 years old. He is fast, has excellent positional sense, and has good tackling and aerial abilities.
I know that Real Madrid and several Italian clubs are interested in him.
