6/19/02 7:00 PM
CHICAGO (Wednesday, June 19, 2002) - After numerous appearances on the three major network morning shows and in the nation's top sports magazines over the past month, members of the U.S. World Cup will make their first appearances on the late-night talk show circuit this week.
The team made its debut on the "Tonight Show with Jay Leno", on Wednesday. A group of four players -- Landon Donovan, Cobi Jones, Clint Mathis and Joe-Max Moore -- did a live interview with immediately after Leno's monologue, answering questions both serious and comical about the World Cup and the team's recent success.
The team will also appear tonight (Thursday) on the "Late Show with David Letterman", which is also broadcast at 11:35 p.m. ET/10:35 p.m. CT/11:30 p.m. PT. A group of 10 U.S. players will help Dave read a World Cup-themed Top 10 list about 20-25 minutes into the show.
