Mckennie is a 2 way player. We never had a player like him before. Jonathan Gonzales is prolly the best young DM playing in mexico..Mexico want him badly but he is committed to the US..lol Dude can be a special player. We also never had a player like keaton...dude can pass da ball and has good feet..Luca la torre can be a good player too..dude is fast and very technical.

Moore is a surprise...dude is on the rise in la liga:eek:

Americans Abroad: Weston McKennie shines for Schalke | Goal.com

AMERICANS ABROAD: MCKENNIE STANDS OUT FOR SCHALKE

Those misses are a reminder that McKennie is still an unfinished product, even if we saw a tantalizing hint of his potential on his run and goal against Portugal for the U.S. national team. But the youngster’s overall game is coming around — his performance against Hamburg was enough to get him named Man of the Match on Bundesliga.com.

The win moves Schalke up to second place in the Bundesliga and has the club riding high as it gears up for its huge derby with Borussia Dortmund. There, health permitting, we may get to witness perhaps the two most highly-regarded young Americans battle it out with McKennie squaring off against Christian Pulisic.

------

Weston McKennie and Christian Pulisic aren’t the only teenage Americans making names for themselves these days. Jonathan Gonzalez, an 18-year-old defensive midfielder, continues to write his own tale in Liga MX.

While there was an injury worry coming in, Gonzalez was ready for Monterrey in the Apertura finale against rivals Tigres and went the full 90 in the 2-0 win. Not only did the victory hand Monterrey bragging rights over their rivals, it also gave them the top spot in the Apertura for the playoffs over, you guessed it, Tigres.

The teen has now played in 16 of Monterrey’s 17 Apertura games this season and started 14 of them. He has a great chance to pick up some silverware, though a tough road through the playoffs awaits starting with a showdown with Atlas.

------

Shaq Moore’s rise in Spain continues. The 21-year-old fullback has made the jump from Levante II last year into the first team this season.

He has been rewarded with a start in the Copa del Rey and received his La Liga debut in October.
Now he’s graduated to his first start in Spain’s top division. Called in due to injury, Moore nonetheless appeared to acquit himself well in Levante’s 2-0 win over Las Palmas. He went the full 90 minutes and drew praise from his head coach after the contes

---

Keaton Parks, a 20-year-old midfielder from Texas, made his debut for Benfica’s first team in Portuguese cup against top-division side Vitoria Setubal. Parks entered in the 69th minute and assisted on Benfica’s second goal in the 2-0 win.

Konrad de la Fuente, the swing from Miami
11-20-2017 10:24

Fast and acrobatic. As a true jitterburg of swing, Konrad de la Fuente continues to uncover his self-confidence attached to the lime. Explosive, electric and unbalancing, the American international dances his best steps with the rhythm of FCB Juvenil B

U.S. Soccer might not hire a coach until after the World Cup

The U.S. Soccer Federation is not planning to hire a men’s national soccer team coach before the organization’s presidential election in February, and with no major competitions in the near future, it might wait until the pool of potential candidates grows after next summer’s World Cup, multiple people familiar with the situation said over the weekend.

young yanks are on a roll! :strong:klinsman jr started for hertha A team today

and...let the rumors go wild!!:howler:

Rumors: USMNT midfield duo being targeted by big European clubs

Silly season is approaching

It’s about that time of the year again, folks. Transfer season is approaching. Which means it’s time for the rumors to start flying. Young USMNT midfielders Tyler Adams and Jonathan Gonzalez are already being subject of speculation heading into January.

Calciomercato.com is reporting that the New York Red Bulls Homegrown Player is on the radar of Italian giants Roma as a candidate to replace the aging Daniele De Rossi in the Giallorossi midfield.

The defensive-midfielder has already been looked at by Valencia, and now it appears Roma as taken note. According to a source with the club, while a transaction is not imminent – nor is it clear whether they’ve begun making overtures to his MLS club – it is confirmed that Adams is on their radar.

Meanwhile, Matthew Doyle of MLSSoccer.com dropped a little nugget last night that several “big” clubs around Europe are interested in Monterrey’s Jonathan Gonzalez and are lining up some hefty transfer offers.

and we will face france!

USMNT to take on France in June

Les Bleus will take on the Yanks in Lyon in their final World Cup tune-up.

We imagined that the USMNT would be a team pursued by many who are seeking big-time friendlies to prepare for the World Cup, and this will be a good test for a French side that many hold among the favorites to hoist the World Cup trophy next summer. For the United States, this will be a great chance for some of the younger players to go against some world-class talent and show what they can do. Still, with the stature of this friendly, you will probably see many of the regulars take the field in Lyon.

hahaha, i bet pulisic, jonathan and mckennie wouldnt be starters in MLS right now .....I want all of our best young talents to move abroad...**** MLS and their coaching style!!

“When you look at MLS, you don’t see many young players getting minutes,” Sargent told American Soccer Now. “But Weston and Christian are getting minutes. I don’t know how you can refuse that.”

How is it possible that American teenagers are getting first-team minutes in Germany’s Bundesliga but not in MLS? Martino says “short-termism” plagues coaches, both here and abroad, which stymies development. Writing rules for MLS teams to follow isn’t going to fix it either, but Martino agrees with Pulisic.

“Are we closing the gap? Is there less disparity? Absolutely, we deserve credit for that, but there are better options abroad,” said Martino, who thinks minutes should be earned, not rewarded. “Our focus should not be on forcing kids to stay here and forcing MLS clubs to play through them. The focus should be on improving our academies, improving the quality of coaching and increasing the opportunities these kids have to play. Abroad is always going to be an option, but when we have a commensurate option here, kids are going to stay and we’ll improve.”

That sentiment also applies to the once-invincible women’s national team, as leagues abroad have begun to attract America’s top talent due to better resources and professionalism as a whole.

“We use their success to paper over cracks,” he said, referring to three-time women’s World Cup champions. “We use their success to try to demonstrate that we’re getting it right.”

Predicting the USMNT January Camp roster

https://www.starsandstripesfc.com/usmnt-friendly/2018/1/2/16834068/usa-usmnt-january-camp-roster-prediction-bosnia-herzegovina

Because most of Europe will be in season and this is not FIFA international fixture window, you won’t see players like Christian Pulisic, Weston McKennie, John Brooks or other players based in Europe. There may be the occasional player from Liga MX, but for the most part, this January Camp will consist of players plying their trade in MLS.

Finally, we will get to see Jonathan Gonzalez in a USMNT camp. The 18-year-old Monterrey midfielder was named to the Liga MX Best XI for the Apertura season, and will be one of the guys that fans most anticipate seeing in a U.S. jersey. Russell Canouse will also get a look as a holding midfielder and has the tools to work his way into the mix. Sebastian Lletget is the question mark here. If he is fully healthy from the foot fracture he suffered during the USMNT’s World Cup qualifier against Honduras back in March, he’s going to feature in this camp. If he’s not ready to go, look for Gyasi Zardes to get the call, much to the disappointment of many fans.
