United has held talks with Roma's Japanese playmaker Hidetoshi Nakata about a possible 15 million-pound transfer.
Roma would be willing to sell Nakata, as
coach Fabio Capello said he will not honor the clause in the 23- year-old's contract that states he plays in at least 60 per cent
of the Italian club's matches.
