Manchester United are considering a move for Olympiakos defender Christos Patsatzoglou after the versatile youngster impressed scout Martin Ferguson in Wednesday's 5-1 win over Aris, according to reports in Greece.

Sir Alex Ferguson's brother, Martin, who is also United's chief scout, travelled to Thessaloniki to watch the young full back perform in Olympiakos' title-clinching win and admitted that he liked what he saw.

Patsatzoglou, who is set to star for Greece in the Under-21 European Championship starting next week, has emerged as first choice right back this season at the Greek champions.

The former Xanthi player was recently ranked among the top 100 emerging players by magazine World Soccer and has broken into the full Greece squad this term.

Equally at home at centre back and capable of playing in midfield, Patsatzoglou is no stranger to Old Trafford. He was instrumental at right back in Greece's impressive 2-2 draw against England in their final World Cup qualifier.

The defender joined Olympiakos as one of the first signings of the Yiannis Matzourakis era when he moved south from Xanthi to Piraeus two seasons ago.

Patsatzoglou has a big future in front of him.He is a defender/midfielder with many technical abilities.

With the defenders that Manchester has he can play as a starter...

He is one of our greatest players. We will be really sad if we loose him.
Good luck to our boys of the national team.
