Week 1

Well it has now been three weeks after I got my coaching certificate, I have been able to find myself a agent, while I know I am very inexperienced I a m not expecting nothing flash, four jobs were available for me to apply for, these were Bristol rovers, Mansfield town, Kettering and maiden head, I have applied for all four and am waiting for a response,

To be honest with you I would like to take the Kettering job, the Mansfield and the Bristol jobs will be expecting more experience and I don’t think I am ready for a team in the league,

After applying for all four jobs, I realized the Bristol job had already been offered to a Mr. Dave Watson, he had asked for a day to think the offer over and eventually accepted the offer.

Week 2

Well, this week I was offered the maidenhead and the Mansfield job, I am a little short on money at the minute after paying of my tutor fees, from the coaching course, I noticed straight away that the Mansfield job wage was 200 pounds more per week, this more than made my mind up and I accepted the offer, Mansfield have no debts which was a great plus as I am not very good with my own money, never mind a football clubs fund.

I have been given a budget of 20 thousand pound from a balance of 28 thousand,
On the 1st of august I was welcomed to the fans in there 9990 thousand seated stadium and was given a very warm welcome.

week 3.

By now I have got acquainted with my team, I have assessed them all and I have in mind what my strongest team looks like. While being a small squad I think there is a good mixture of youth and experience.

Kevin pressman: is a well experienced goalkeeper, he will help the young goalkeeper’s progress greatly at the club, will be first choice keeper for first season.

Jason white: the young 19 year old will have some games and will be the understudy to pressman, next season he may become first choice keeper.

Gavin peers: the strong 19 year old works very well as a team unit and gets stuck in, may be the one of the first choice central defender.

John Alex baptiste: this young central defender is defiantly one for the future, he has many great attributes including bravery and heading ability.

Jason Talbot: also 19, this left back could be one for the future if he takes his chances in the first season this year.

Jon Olav hjelde: the ex Nottingham forest central defender is getting on at 33 but will be the rock of our defense, he will help the youth out.

Rhys day: ex Wales under 21 international, at the age of twenty two could be one for the transfer list, has good heading ability but that’s about it.

Gareth jellyman: left wingback will be the first choice this year, good tackler, and very determined.

Gus uhlenbeak: ex Sheffield united defender, will be hoping to bomb down the right wing this season as often as possible.

Fraser mclachian: young central midfielder will have a great future ahead of him, most attributes are above 12, will be a option for captain.

Stephan dawson: midfield battler, alike Steven gerrard but better 

Giles coke: another battler for the centre will be competing with Dawson for a central spot.

Simon brown: will be our right winger, great at running with the ball at his feet, he can also cross well.

Adam rundle: left winger, 21 years old, this lad will be around for many years maybe at premiership.

Adam burchill: ex gunners forward, 20 years old , I am expecting 20 plus goals from this lad.

Richie baker: will be starter up front this year, well experienced and has plenty of skill.

Richard londsdale: only seventeen, he will be getting a few chances this year, hopefully he will become a great player for this club.

Chris Beardsley: doesn’t offer very much, may well be transfer listed.

Week four.

This week produced my first game, we had to travel to Portman road to face a strong Ipswich side, from this game I was hoping for a draw, but most importantly a good performance, I selected a strong side for the visit, I also let uhlenbeak be captain for the first game of my stint, I selected him captain as he was respected by everyone at the club, and was who the younger squad members looked to for answers and help.

So my first game began on a warm dry, Tuesday night, I was quite surprised that 14000 fans turned out for the game, a estimated 4000 were our away fans who I thank for making the journey , the fans sang my name through out the game which made me very happy,

The first half id say we were the best team, but Ipswich did give us a few scares, the second half after a few substitutions from either side began, and within 4 minutes our fans were going wild as baker scored, only for it to be ruled out for off side, but Ipswich hit us hard were it hurts by scoring two goals in very quick succession.

So we went home with a loss but we were not down hearted, we knew we had given Ipswich a game and the performance is what matters in friendly.

Also this week the team sat down to have there annual team photos taken. This is how they looked..

Week five .

Well our first league came this week, our start was at home against Rusden and diamonds, the media are touting us as early favorites for the game for the sole reason of we have home advantage, for the selection I only had one injury, central midfield man Dawson has been injured in training and faces up to 2weeks on the sidelines,

So we welcomed Rusden to our humble home..

On a dry Saturday afternoon, to be honest I was very disappointed of stay away fans, a total of just under 4000 fans turned up to the game, the game began and we seemed to tak control early on, but to our astonishment Rusden took the lead, a great run down the right wing by the full back, and a even better cross saw on loan Czech marksman mikolonda rise above our defense and nod home. It didn’t take us very long to hit back though, 5 minutes later, baker was fouled outside the box, which also resulted in him being stretched of, lonsdale replaced him, from the free kick which was about 30 yards out, rundle and coke stood over it, then rundle struck a unstoppable shot into the right top corner,

Only two minutes later, and we had took the lead, baker played a great 1-2 with Lonsdale and beautifully lobbed the keeper from the edge of the box. That is how the game finished, 2-1 we have our first win of the season.
the free kick rockets into the net.

Well after a months worth of football we see the end of the transfer window, a window which I have not been too busy in, august saw 5 players arrive, 4 of which were under 17s, our biggest transfer was securing the services of dale tonge on loan from barnsley, the four youngsters were, Nicky wood a defender left from emley, sacha m`baye (dc) and jack Holmes(dl) both from afc Wimbledon, these three arrived with no fees while my fourth permanent signing was Andrew McDonald from Dundee, the central midfielder could cost up to 1 thousand pounds.

On to the games, we have played 5 games, and only won one, our losses resulted in us leaving the league cup in the first round in a tight game with stoke, 2 losses in the league and two draws has given us a bad start to the season, the only good sign is our last game was a 4-1 hammering of Boston.

After august we see ourselves sitting in 15th position,

This month saw two wins and two defeats, it made me very disappointed to se our defense leak four goals even though we did play well in the game, but I was given the performance I demanded in the thrashing of Carlisle. But overall sitting in 13 place has been an improvement of last month.

Our patchy form continues, we keep winning few then loosing games which is not acceptable, at the beginning of December we find ourselves in 10th position, we have been drawn against Darlington in 3rd round of ldvs,
And I also was turned down by tramere in favor of peter Reid after they sacked there manager.
