Maldini is a better left-back than Lizarazu, but you probably mean a realistic Lazio team for the future or something right? and we know Maldini will NEVER play for Lazio :(

The best left-half/winger in Europe right now is definitly Boudewijn Zenden. So I'd rather prefer a player on the left who specialises in that position then an attacking-mid/playmaker like Pavel Nedved. :)

Be real, Kahn is still best in the world.Toldo, Buffon and Van der Sar are all close.
And as for a left back, Maldini and Lizarazu together are not worth one and only: ROBERTO CARLOS DA SILVA.
FORZA LAZIO!!!

LazioLover! You donno what you're talking about! Roberto Carlos is the best Left Backer in the world for a long time now!
I agree with Sandro's lineup, except for some minor adjustments....

Kahn
Thuram Nesta Cannavaro Roberto Carlos
Figo Zidane Davids Nedved
Vieri Nuno Gomes

Bench:
Goalie: Toldo, Casillas
Defence: Lizarazu, Nowotny, Sol Campbell, Salgado
Midfield: Veron, Zahovic, Claudio, Denilson
Strikers: Shevchenko, Ronaldo, Palermo, Javier Saviola

people who are worth mentioning are: Fabian Carini, Walter Samuel, Luis Enrique, Pablo Aimar, Juan Riquelme..... have i mentioned they are all Argentinians except for FABIAN and LUIS?! :D

I DIG SPANISH, PORTUGUESE & ARGENTINIAN (especially) FOOTBALL! Best in the world Guys!
Viva l'Iberia! Viva L'America (south... hehe)!

Well Kafka, I think you like Peruzzi but without a doubt Oliver Kahn is the best goalie in the world. He has won many titles and also awards like best german keeper of the year (4 times), world keeper of the year in 1999 and champions league keeper of the year last season. His reflexes are remarkable, he is strong, great one on one and he is a leader, not only with Bayern Munich but also with his (actually bad) national team. And hey Driver X, I wanted to choose a team with a good mix, so I left Maldini out of it. Of course he is a good player. You can also put Roberto Carlos on the left wing but he is so offensiv that then Nedved could not use his offensive talents. And I agree with Laziali all the way to put Luis Enrique on the bench. He can play so many positions that he is a good weapon for every team. But he is injured nearly half a season. I like him and I hope he is able to play soon because he is a great player. Nuno Gomes and Vieri are also good aditions. Nuno Gomes is quick and fast and Vieri would be a good partner with his strong play with his head. goo combination like Sheva and Raul.

Peter Schmeichel? Well I think his best years are over. But he was great for ManU in the 1990ies. Right now Kahn is the man in goal with van der Sar, Toldo and Buffon right behind him.

He gave Sporting Lisbon first championship after 16 years or so!
I don't accept your argument which says his best years are behind him.
I think the Portuguese League is much better than the English one (but i'm biased, so... :)). Peter Schmeichel can definately suit into one of the best goalies in the world. Schmeichel was voted as the best footballer of the season in Portugal if i'm not mistaking.

He's the reason Denmark didn't received 30 goals in Euro 2000.
I think that after Schmeichel will retire from the Danish squad, Denmark will be a BAAAD squad.

Schmeichel is one of the 5 best goalies in the world, and it's wrong for all of you guys to forget him.

Chilavert hasn't said the last word yet as well.

So Laziali all the way, I just thought about Schmeichel and I accept your opinion because I didn´t know he won the award for the best player in Portugal. And even if he didn´t win it, it doesn´t count. yes, he is good, but not the Schmeichel from 1995 or so. But he has three good years left. the difference to Kahn is that Kahn is on the top right now. And hey Juan F and sslazio11, he made one mistake , I´m sorry he made two all season long (the first against Turkey in the Euro 2000 qualification in Bursa and the second against Conceicao). He is defenitely the best. For sure!
