I admit, I have not watched much of Zenit to date, aside from their recent UEFA Cup work. Certainly this is not a side that can be overlooked by the Bavarians. A clean sheet is a must in this first leg. Giving up a road goal, to this side, will only add even more pressure for the return leg.

I bealive this is a match that Bayern will not take lightly, after the Getafe match. As you said, a clean sheet is a must and of course to win is essential.

Btw, I saw Zenit a couple of times, and they play really well away from home. At Russia they are normally out of luck!

I'd be supporting all home-teams in this European week.

UEFA Cup

FC Bayern München v Zenit St. Petersburg
Glasgow Rangers v Fiorentina

UEFA Champions League

Liverpool FC v Chelsea FC
FC Barcelona v Manchester United FC

Zenit lies ten in the russian league with six rounds played.....a 1-2 result for them is good, luca toni suspension gives them some hope.

Guys, will Sagnol be healthy enough to start this match? I'm just wondering what Bayern's lineup might look like. If Sagnol is in there, and van Bommel is healthy enough to play, I would expect the lineup to look like this:

Kahn
Sagnol-Demichelis-Lucio-Lahm
?-van Bommel-ze Roberto-Ribery
Klose-Podolski

No.

We will most likely see Ribery support Poldi. This is a really bad scenario. Poldi will not do in this role.

I expect this lineup if that become the case:

Kahn

Lell - Lucio - Micho - Lahm

Sagnol - Bommel - Ze - Schwieni

Ribery

Poldi

Poldi has been ok in the UEFA Cup so far. Maybe he will do even better when everything concentrates on him. After all that was the case in Köln when he was most successful.

Well I don't care who plays, we MUST win this match and not concede any goals against.

I think Bayern should play like this:

Kahn - Lell, Lucio, Demichelis, Lahm - van Bommel, Zé Roberto - Schweinsteiger, Kroos, Ribery - Podolski
