Once UEFA cup was often harder than Champions', cause the teams which classified second or third were often as strong as those who won the championship. I remember beautiful finals of UEFA Cup, but even semifinals or quarterfinals. Now UEFA cup is the cup of the losers. As regards Italy the greatest ruin is to come 5th (Chievo and Bologna excepted), When you listen to Cragnotti or Galliani they say that UEFA cup qualification means nothing. I remember Galliani to say two months ago "UEFA cup would be a nice trophy (NB he showed no enthusiasme saying this), but if we don't qualify for CL I will change all the team!".
I think that with such a CL UEFA cup must disappear.

Well to a degree i agree, but the fact is money makes the world go round.

Milan are ****e, but still have more power than leverkusen, arsenal, liverpool, and deportivo, pantahnkkos, combined

and they all made the cl's quaters

as long as milan sucks, uefa cup will exist, to ease our financial burdens

UEFA Cup <Second/Third place>
European Cup Winners Cup <Cup Winners>

Now all it is is:

European Champions League <1/2/3/4 place teams>
UEFA CUP <Champions League rejects>



It's about money and not for the good of the game and UEFA should change it back. UEFA Cup does suck.

None of the European club cups are as appealing to me anymore. I do like to watch it but I don't feel the same passion with that as the domestic league or the national team competitions.

I agree that the UEFA cup has suffered from the CL.
The CL stands for Champions league. This should only be the top team in that country, maybe 2nd position. The Uefa cup should be 2nd,3rd and 4th team.
Not teams ending up in about 8th position qualifying for the UEFA cup.
