Fiorentina (1) v (2) BayernWell, I don't really know what to say. If we keep up this mentality that the referees are against us then that's a self fulfilling prophecy waiting to happen. I read the report by UEFA after our first leg tie and there was no mention of any of the decisions being controversial. That pretty much goes to show that UEFA's responsibility is towards themselves and not the teams they are screwing over.
The British media, namely Sky, have been very sympathetic towards our cicumstances. Jamie Redknapp and the panel were very astute at pointing out so many refereeing decisions that went against us, you'd think it was a conspiracy. Some of them even muttered that they hoped we'd get justice in the second leg. Nice to hear that from the English who we (perhaps rightly) get bashed by so often.
We really should be further up the league to maintain our status as a top side but we aren't and that's where the slight lack of confidence and the questions start to seep in. Also, we should be attacking more and scoring. Why is scoring such a problem?
Anyway, I think it's very important to show the World what we are capable of. This for me is a must win for the sake of our reputation. We really deserve it.
