UEFA Champions League

Referee:
Claus Bo Larsen (Denmark)

Ok, so UEFA have already destroyed the build up for this game considering they wanted to give Atlético a three game stadium ban, luckily we managed to escape that this time, but they'll most likely try to screw us over again. Fernando Torres injury destroyed some of the build-up to this game as well, it's a shame he can't come to Madrid and visit Atlético de Madrid.

Anyways, Aguirre got heavily criticized for using four central midfielders against Real Madrid, but then he played Simão in the second half. The portuguese is likely to start on Wednesday night but Aguirre is planning some of a revolution like Marca likes to call it as nine players will be benched against Liverpool.

Coupet

Seitaridis - Perea - Domínguez - Antonio López

Luis García - Camacho - Maniche - Simão

Forlán - Sinama-Pongolle

That's the line-up Marca announced yesterday, it's very strange because players like Camacho will make his competetive debut this season if he plays against Liverpool while Álvaro Domínguez is set to make his debut for the club in a game of this importance, they're both debuting in the Champions League if they start tomorrow.

Heitinga appereantly got injured again and the same goes for Ujfaluši who couldn't finish the game against Real. Kun is likely to be rested for this one because he's been playing non-stop since coming back from the Olympics.

I think Aguirre likes people who have "Garcia" as their second name.

I think the game was promised to him ...
Because he's played over there, not what I think, but how many of you think that we'll actually win this game tonight?

I'm not very hopeful if Aguirre starts the mentioned line-up.
Aguirre has called on the following players:

25 Leo Franco.

4 Pernía.
5 Heitinga.
21 Perea.
28 Álvaro Domínguez.

MIDFIELDERS
8 Raúl García.
9 Luis García.
12 Paulo Assunção.
18 Maniche.
19 Miguel de las Cuevas.
20 Simão.

Coupet is actually injured.
Confirmed line-up:

Leo Franco
Seitaridis - Perea - Domínguez - Antonio López
Luis García - Camacho - Maniche - Simão
Forlán - Sinama-Pongolle
Technical Reasons?? Ever should be playing in these games no doubts about it, if hr picks that make shift team i think we may lose by a few goals
..or seven :D
Was not Banega playing continuously in the last few matches..never mind the international break this I believe is to give others some chances.
Kun is likely to be rested for this one because he's been playing non-stop since coming back from the Olympics.
Why waiting for what may be your most important match in Europe for a long time to do that?

He is exhausted, carrying small niggle and this is not the most important match. The important one comes in the weekend against Villareal where we would need him more.

Atlético's got six points from two games so Aguirre wants to rest him and he definitely needs it.
I don't understand why Banega is out. Aguirre manages to do something that puzzles me in every game.
