The task is clear:

Win 1-0 or by a two-goal margin and Valencia will be included in Friday's draw for the Champions League knock-out phase.

Vicente is back for this game, about time too!

3-0.

Di Vaio
Aimar
Vicente

Bad, bad night for Valencia.

To be honest though, the damage was done a long time ago. Back-to-back defeats against Bremen and Inter earlier on in the season when injuries played their role clearly came back to haunt you in the end.

It's disappointing because everybody knows that Valencia on their day are up there with the best in Europe and were well capable of winning the Champions League, but it just wasn't mean to be.

You can blame it on the injuries, the ref, the weather etc but the main culprit has got to be Ranieri. Tonight he has proved how much of a clueless clown he is, putting on Vicente, Di Vaio and Corradi ALL at the same time as early as the 15th minute of the 2nd half. For fecks sake, Valencia ONLY needed a sole goal to go through and there was no need to go crazy and field three offensive oriented players at the same time ! Not only that but Aimar (eventhough he dived like hell tonight and always tried to win fouls out of nowhere) was the only one that was capable of creating shit, so what does Ranieri do ? He subs him out of the game and indeed Aimar was disappointed and pissed off as he didn't deserve to be substituted. But the monkey that coaches Valencia had other ideas in this puny brain of his. :rollani:

And what did Claudio exactly expect from Vicente ? He has been sidelined for a few months now and he decides to field him against a physical like hell team such as Bremen. As expected Vicente did shit and I wouldn't blame him at all as the game was too tough for him. He lacks match practice and it showed.

To continue the series of mistakes by Ranieri, he leaves the absolutely worthless Angulo on the field for the whole game ! (well, untill he got sent off after a terrible challenge on Valdez) :mute:

Werder Bremen deserved their triumph as they were tight at the back and didn't commit mistakes. Actually they were the better side in the first half and had more chances than Valencia at the Mestalla, so credits to them.

P.S. Ugly scenes at the end, Angulo and Borowski should get a hefty ban by UEFA. The first for spitting on Borowski and the latter for showing the Valencia fans the finger...

And dirty Mestalla should be banned for several games too. It's not Werder players that started this mess. Crowd throwed things to the pitch and luckily no one was hurt.

I always knew there was a reason I disliked Angulo and Marchena

Nah the fans were provoked by Bremen's "golf celebration" right after the opening goal. Not only that but Ismaël provoked them too as he told them to leave the pitch. So actually Werder players did start this mess and they acted like total dorks.

But no excuse whatsoever for Angulo who spat on Borowski...
