Thanks for the heads up.

Anyone to highlight from the French team?

And can anyone share a bit about the other teams?

The England Squad

GK Jordan Pickford (Sunderland)
GK Ben Garratt (Crewe Alexandra)
DF Nathaniel Chalobah (Chelsea)
DF Jordan Cousins (Charlton Athletic)
DF Sam Magri (Portsmouth)
DF Adam Jackson (Middlesbrough)
DF Matthew Regan (Liverpool)
DF Brad Smith (Liverpool)
MF Nathan Redmond (Birmingham City)
MF Max Clayton (Crewe Alexandra)
MF Jake Forster-Caskey (Brighton & Hove Albion)
MF John Lundstram (Everton)
MF Blair Turgott (West Ham United)
MF Raheem Sterling (Liverpool)
FW Adam Morgan (Liverpool)
FW Alex Henshall (Manchester City)
FW Hallam Hope (Everton)
FW Nick Powell (Crewe Alexandra)

Going from a limited knowledge base about a few of the players I'd say the biggest prospect out of the lot is Raheem Sterling. His performances in the FA Youth Cup gave the lad a lot of coverage and hype.

Chalobah was 15 last year when he was part of the side that won last years competition.

Nick Powell is the next "big thing" from Crewe according Dario Gradi. Never seen him play but Arsenal have been linked with him and rumours of £3 million bids were floating around in the summer.

Jake Forster-Caskey plays for Brighton and played against us in the cup, he looked very lively from central and wide areas.

Hallum Hope and Alex Henshall are both highly rated too.

That's all I've got. :)

I am surprised that Spanish team didn't qualify. How did that happen? They are absolute best in this level in Europe, are they not?

got it from another forum but apparently Adam Morgan has had scored @ least a goal in 12 consecutive games (16 total) for the Liverpool reserves/youth squad (not sure exactly which one)

Raheem sterling is prolly Liverpools most touted prospect atm

In Romania the biggest prospect is considered the keeper Branescu (Juventus). He saved a decisive last minute penalty in the last qualifying game against Hungary.

This Emre Can kid from Germany is a fantastic player... easily the highlight of the game between Germany and Holland for me.

Built for the EPL imo.. once he matures and stop trying to be over-tricky&more responsable in the deeper places on the field and improove that last pass and final act finishing his runs with goals/assists, he'll be amazing.

Really loved his ability and moreso his potential.. the CB Ayhan looks pretty good aswell, and I also liked the rightback Weiser.

Aycicek should get more invovled as he's a real livewire with the ball - but that team is just missing the end product and a real striker who can attract the CBs attention on him more often with off the ball runs to the right places at the right time.. Holland is a very organized side tactically and looked like they were very well prepared for the Germen - so kudos for thier manager, but I don't think they're a better team the Germany tbh.. think Germany gave them too much respect and could've gotten a better result with a more daring approach as thier defence imo wasn't that great.

Hard to really judge those type of players in an U-17 tournement.

He looked good, but not nothing too spectacular.. he sure got potential tho, but again he has such a big advantage in those type of games.

That is the thing. If anything he would dominate with his size but he didn't. He looked very average to say the least.

Yup i'd agree - but for good or worst I think it's hard to judge by those games, not only for the big center-forwards, but in general.

He isn't making any impression of being the next Drogba though, thats a given :D
