turks abroad - OFF TOPIC

I didnt wanted to write that under "Fan exchange", so where should I put it, if not here  ;)

It has nothing to do with turkish footballers abroad. It is about US.
I see here a lot of turkish member who are living in "foreign" countries. I just want you to answer to following questions:

a) where do you live?
b) since when do you live there?
c) what are the reasons you are living there (job, family,..)
d) do you want to return to Turkey, if yes, when?
e) what do you miss about Turkey?
f) do you have any problems in the "foreign" country? Do you feel
like a foreigner?

I want to have short answers. No biographies or novels ;)

My answers:

a) Germany
b) since my birth
c) I work here
d) I wanted to return. But now the wish is not strong anymore :depress: I wanted to live and work in Istanbul...
e) sunny weather, the relaxed atmosphere, the smell (if you get out of the plane, you can smell the difference), the fun I have there, the most beautiful and interesting city of the world: ISTANBUL
f) Dont have any problems, thank God. Its a great country here. I dont feel like a foreigner, but sometimes you have to explain a German a lot of things about your culture and religion. That makes me feel "foreign"...

I could write more, but....

its your turn! ;)

PS. Also non-Turks living abroad can answer!!!

What are you doing Esperar! want me to ban you!! (you said do what you want):D :D What was that phrase? Power corrupts? :D

a) London
b) Born in London
c) Never considered anything else (yet!)
d) If my partner does, then possibly, depending on my career aspirations (if not, possibly outside London, the house prices are crazy!). Brighton's nice, also known as the UK gay capital (please note, the partner I mention is female! :D)
e) Used to miss it more when there were fewer tv channels and more socialising (i.e. balcony socialising). Cheap cigarettes , the sea, respectful children.
f) The names always a problem, it would be easier to just say it, rather than have to spell it constantly (I'm hoping Hakan Unsal is a hit here! :D), As we sometimes know, growing up in another culture (outside home) and living a Turkish culture at home can even make you feel foreign in your own house :(

Not too much of a novel I hope :)
I just want you to answer to following questions:
And I thought I was the big brother:D

Thanks for bringing up these questions:)

I believe we partly did this before, but not as detailed as this one:)

b) since when do you live there?

c) what are the reasons you are living there (job, family,..)

d) do you want to return to Turkey, if yes, when?
I want to. It's been more than two years I haven't been to Turkey. I guess I'll be turning Turkey permanently:cool:

e) what do you miss about Turkey?
My family to begin with, and I guess the most important thing that I miss is the feeling of being where you belong;)

f) do you have any problems in the "foreign" country? Do you feel
like a foreigner?
That's a tough question. Since I wasn't born and raised here. I probably do not have the conflict you guys may have;)

I am a foreigner, I feel like one. However, I believe that here in US, the concept of being foreigner is different than it is in Europe.

To begin with prejudice is not as big as it is in Europe. People accept who you are and you don't feel uncomfortable adapting to culture:cool:

I don't know if that answers the question:)

I started to feel little different when I go back to Turkey now because I have been away from home 7 years nearly, going back in summers and christmas...(europe for couple years)

Yes, I want to trial for some teams :)
The youth development here is great, but when the players hit 20, the rest from there on is crap
I even think that the best of the 20yr old teams could beat quite a few of the National Division 1 teams

OTUZBESBUCUK<--------- Do you know who JR(Jeremy Roenick) is?

Hell ye!
He is the only player in the NHL to lead his team in goals, assists, points and penalty minutes...:D :D :D :D
And to me, Philly is so lucky to have this great guy around the squad. With Jeremy, Rick Tocchet, LeClair, Recchi, Desjardins,Primearu,Oates they are so experienced team and Flyers have young players like Cagne,McGillis,Justin Williams,Boucher.
Damn!! I did not relaize how great team it is until I wrote the names down!! But they suck so bad nowadays, something is wrong with them but they could not figure it out. Play-off is so close and they are going south!!! We were suppose to dominate EAST but something is going on!!!
It is the best of best time of the year for me!
Turkish league is hot like hell, NBA finals is almost here and Sixers are in, NHL playoffs is 4 games away and we are in, Baseball just kicked in and Phillies does not seem that bad!! What else I can ask. Ooooooh, my die heart team Karsiyaka is leading their group by 14 points!!! (It is a shame for them to be there but hey! no money, no 1. league!!!) Shoot....Sorry guys, I wrote a lot:D :D :D :D :D

OTUZBESBUCUK, when I was in New York I met JR, but that was under his days with phoenix. This player has some much passion for the sport and gives everything every night, I admire him for his determination - just like the guy on the picture to the left.

Have you ever been to first union center? Philly´s home court I think - and how about that Iverson he´s gotta be big in Philly?
An last I would ask you about my countryman Hedo Turkoglu who plays for Kings - how is he doing, are people mentioning his name or what??
