TSL Week 3 : Trabzonspor - Besiktas : 0-0

First "derby" of the season. Trabzon have made major changes in the summer break to get a shot at the title this season. They won both of their games of the new season so they should be a good challange for us. A win would be a great result...DUH and I expect we will get it if we don't concede any stupid goals. Holosko still injured so, he may be out for this game. Other than that everyone is fit.

I am expecting a highscoring game 2-3 for us. Good luck to our boys.

No i dont have to, Tello as left-back or Emre Özkan, even Toraman could be used there(if injuries comes).
Excellent.

I've been enjoying the talks of how good Sivok is as defender at other places.
Clearly :) he's someone cramming because he was contracted as CB.

BJK cannot advance much in UEFA Cup even if they solidified the defense with all the foreigners in stock. Cannot score against Trabzon!!

BJK can play all their foreigners in UEFA. And Trabzon is not a bad team, they are a very good team this season and they were playing at home.

As for Sivok he was very good today and have been good those games he played. Even you have to admit that now. If we had Zan&Toroman this game we would most probably got slaughtered this game... :rollani:
"Maldonado doesn't look for Alex. He looks for Zico."

BTW, I was surprised Serdar Ozkan couldn't pass Cale... Man, life as footballer (A-milli) is tough.
I cracked with TS' forwards today. It's OK if there are people who were impressed.

BJK were able to win three points easily if there was a game plan and players capable of executing it. On paper, BJK is a much better team. (Else, the best they can look for is 4th place finish.)
Ugh, pretty disappointing game, but I knew it would be a low-scoring affair when I saw Yattara was out.

Neither team could create any decent chances, but out of the ones we did see I thought TS had the better positions.

Ah well Fener and GS also dropped points, so its not a biggie. Good luck to you guys in the coming weeks
Doh.. So much hype on the improved defense.

In the said match last season, they had Yattara and Gokdeniz; BJK had AliT-Toraman-Zan-Uzulmez :)( :(), didn't have Bobo (edit: Bobo came on as sub) nor Holosko and still won (3-2 away).

Have we improved or what? :D

(If BJK had to do with the kind of players - fizzlers! - in a derby, I don't think they stand a chance.)
So far i'm only impressed with Zapo, Sivok just does his job, he hasn't ****ed up yet. But this game MOM for me was Cisse. He played well defensively but better in the attack. Created somewhat of chances opened up the defence a bit. Other than that Serdar Ozkan made Cale look like he was the best LB in Turkey. Tello at LB was a disaster this game. Delgado lost many balls in the midfield as usual. Nevertheless we missed Holosko this game I believe.
Hi everybody.
Like it's a new CL season who begin tomorow, I'm thinking to you.
Where is our team this years ? And will you play an European competition this year ?

It's sad that you are not in CL .. just for your impressive crowd.
Good luck, and I hope an other game between our teams the last year :)

PS : When I'm speaking here, I forget the relation Armenia/Turkey, also don't speak me about that, tx ;)

;)
We so don't belong in the Champions league this year. We'd probably get spanked again. We're in the Uefa Cup and I'm not to hopeful about our chances.

Speaking of which how is your team doing? I hope they're fairing better than Besiktas.

Losing Samir Nasri must have sucked.
we are actually much better than last year
We could go far in the UEFA Cup this year
Not sure about that Kerem our squad doesn't have the depth, afew key injuries and we're done for.
Why do I even bother coming in this thread?

Now I look for a post-match analysis and you guys are talking about imaginary posts and whose biyik is bigger :D
That is what happens when a game completely sucks arse.

The biyik thing is going to be around for a while, get used to it. :pp
i am pretty confident with the quality of players we have at our disposal, especially in defense... we haven't had this much depth in the back since 2003

Because of quantity as well. (In 2003, BJK had 5 defensive field players, now 6)

Do you know defense is no issue at GS and they still get heavily criticized?
Sorry if I don't speak about the game, but I didn't find the off topic here.
Marseille will play in CL with Liverpool, Atletico and PSV ... wtf, so hard group.
All others result than 4th could be a good result.

Marseille have a better group than last year. Nasri went to Arsenal but we got Ben Arfa who plays like we love at Marseille.
Others players have came this summer like Hilton (defense) or Koné (forward).

We begin like championship like you. 11 points after 5 days and a second place behind Lyon (13 points).

Finaly, we will perhaps see you in UEFA cup. I hope to you good results in this competition. At least we will have a chance to meet us
And a good championship to see you in CL last year
I've been watching L'OM on Setanta this season and am very impressed. French football is getting a lot more competitive again, Lyon won't have it easy anymore.

Ben Arfa hasn't even settled in yet, so when he starts firing look out.

It's definitely good if you back up your "opinion" with correct data.

As suggested, we fielded Toraman-Zan last season and used three attackers (three-man midfield) and won in Trabzon. (Umut-G.Unal are hardly classified as the best of Superlig)

Sivok played in Antalya and the defense conceded two in the first 36 minutes. He and Zapo also played against a Bonsia team. Do you remember the name of the club? Were they good?

Sivok turned 25 today and he ACTUALLY has no track record as international-class defender. Just two caps between 2005 and 2008 as midfielder (of course, many youth caps, that's why his price has been elevated). Hit blank at Udinese - as midfielder. Regular at Sparta Praha, which has lower coefficients than BJK.
Practically, he's re-started his career and I'm willing to watch his progress (but, no, don't think he'll be ever called for NT again. Zapo has been on the backup list.). In the meanwhile, it's to BJK's advantage to have three solid CB's (four, if to add Zan). We definitely cannot do with just two, domestically and in Europe.

In short, I think Turks have soft spot for a tall Central European defender. The pricier, the better.

Trabzon of last season and this season is like day&night.

Super-Gala-of-Doom-with-their-uber-stars got only 1-1 at home agains Antalya...

They were rock solid yesterday against a very good team and despite that our midfield constantly lost possesion.

Sivok turned 25 today and he ACTUALLY has no track record as international-class defender.
Hes age is another advantage. Nihat for example didnt have any track record at all as right midfielder when he came to BJK when he was 17 year old, despite that he played very good.

I prefer a 25 year old player with potential than a 33 old fart with only fame left.... :smileani:

I do not regard Zan&Toroman as solid if you mean them as CBs, Toroman maybe as full-back.

galatasaray are clowns, they have yet to learn their lesson in signing players.

For once, Besiktas made pragmatic signings, but Galatasaray once again decided to appease their fans by signing 'big names'
Sivok, Zapo, Ekrem, Ugur

Kewell, Baros, Sanctis, Meira
