Sure, but I assume we're talking peak ability, and btw people don't tend to die off at my age.

Can you define 'greatest', i.e. do they have to be good or not?
So go ahead and post your top 10 most excellent human beings who ever lived according to your tastes.

Your call :thumbsup (1): If Hitler, as an example, is the most outstanding human who ever lived in your opinion, then put him as your no1.

Really, the category is too broad, you end up with bland non-entities like Mother Theresa or Gorbachev.

Saxo Grammaticus
Tycho Brahe
Christian IV (Denmark)
Nicolas Steno
Peter Wessel Tordenskjold
Bertel Thorvaldsen
Søren Kierkegaard
Carl Nielsen
Niels Bohr
Carl Th. Dreyer

WTF @ people naming entertainers... lol...

Well, since Pele re-emphasizes taste, I might swap Rogers, Garland, K. Hepburn, Dietrich, and Gish for Jane Greer, Ava Gardner, Donna Reed, Carol Lombard, and Gene Tierney.

Glad to see this inclusion as I read about him recently. It seems he got pretty miserable in his later life but overall, arguably the most competent leader of his age (let's say after Gustavus Adolphus' death).
