Fiorentina have ended transfer speculation surrounding their Italian international goalkeeper Francesco Toldo by announcing a new four year contract with the player.

Toldo is likely to feature in Italy's Euro 2000 campaign squad and had been linked with SS Lazio and AS Roma as contract talks dragged on between the player and the Florence club. The player's agent Gastone Rizzato confirmed the new deal this evening and told reporters that Toldo would would start his new contract on July 1st.
