I too hope we improve in football. As for hockey, I think we are slipping. The Czechs seem to have our number. As well as the Russians.

yes but I don't really think that you can even compare Croatia to Wales. Croatia is a dam good nation whereas Wales is a nothing team and I don't think they will ever do something. Canada has a better chance finishing in the top 3 for Concacaf than Wales does of making any tournament. Really all Canada needs are a couple of talented player....Hargreaves is one.....

IVO you are right, if I had a choice between Canada and Portugal....I would choose Portugal. I just love POrtugal more....but maybe if I would see a better Canadian Soccer program then maybe I would play for Canada, but I would have to play my club soccer for FC Porto

Yah I know... But who are these players that will lead us with their skill? I can only think of Kariya. Also, imagine if Kariya was at the Nagano olympics, do you think he could have managed to score on Hasek?

yes I do. To this day I feel that Crawford was hooked on crack when he made the shootout selection? Lindros and Bourque? I mean WTF is up with those two? What is Lindros going to bump into Hasek? How often does Bourque get a 1 on 1 chance with the goalie? Gretzky should have gotten the call, not sure who else I would have put though...

There weren't many that could have beaten Hasek that nite, but I belive that Lindros and Bourque were wrong too. I think if Kariya was there he would have a better chance, but he missed the tournment. Also, Gretzky should of been there... but I really can't think of anyone else besides Yzerman and Sakic and I think they both went...

In other words, Hasek was a wall that nite... he was like no other goalie I've seen during those Olympics, and only something special would have beaten him..

dont you guys know that gretzky's one on one skill wasnt as great as his passing actually the announcers said in different occasions that gretzky is a penalty taker. he is good at it. lets face it, hasek was in top form and stopped us.

In a way we are like the Germans in football. For the longest time tops, but the game seems to have passed us in hockey, and them in football.
