Last season, we went on a humilating defeat in Stavanger. A match that meant nothing to Brann, but secured Viking's renewed contract in the tippeliga.

Hopefully this year we'll make a better showing of ourselves and show little brother who's the bigger team on the west coast.

Opdal is back and Sæternes is out with a suspension, meaning we'll probably see the following starting lineup:

Opdal
Guntveit - Ørn1 - Ørn2 - Corrales
Solli - Andresen - Gashi - PVM
Helstad - Winters

On paper our midfield looks brilliant, BUT - we haven't been able so far to put it into action.

It will be a tough match for sure. Last victory in Stavanger came in 2001.

Well, the good thing about this match... Bakke looked good. Could easily tell he's been out with injuries for awhile, but imo, he was our best player sunday.

The match was fairly even, but the Viking win was far from undeserved.
Brann's defense was pretty crappy on all Viking's goals. I'm glad Mjelde seems to have realized he can't switch so much around on the defenders, let them get used to eachother.

1-0 (43min) P. Ijeh
2-0 (57min) A. Gaarde
2-1 (79min) M. Andresen
3-1 (86min) S. Berg

Man of the Match : Viking's goalie Austbø
Yellow Card : R. Corrales
Red Card : Bjarnason (two well-deserved yellow cards)

The ref had some rather weak decisions, always in favour of Viking, which disappointed me. Øvrebø is usually solid unless he's reffing Rosenborg.
