would be good for Howard to train and learn of a class Keeper like him.
Oh pleeze! Can't wait till Timmy is the USA goalie in next years World Cup and he blanks England in the 3rd game of the first round and the lads start bitching about the refs!

no, i think you are not biased. :) :D
timo is the best keeper in germany.
this season, without timo the vfb stuttgart never had made it to a uefa cup spot.
forget about monkey kahn:yuck:, lehmann:yuck: and rost

Ha, i wouldn't have expect such a nice, positive response from a Kickers fan! :) :D
I agree with you, but Sammer may be leaving, and if he does we will get an opportunity to re-shape the team and make the CL spot contenders again, because, i'll be honest, we didn't even deserve to have the opportunity to get this year.

I forgot you were a Vfb Stuttgart fan :)

must be great seeing Hleb everyweek!

also Hinkel is a fave of mine, sad about what happened to Lahm..... but thats what happens if you want to go back to Bayern.
I feel bad about Lahm, but as you said, when one wants to go back to Bayscum, he's got it coming.
Hinkel has not been on the same form this year, but is nonetheless one of the best German players in his position(i think only Friedrich is better).

Seeing Hleb is always a treat, but i must say that the prices we are being offered for him, are way over-priced. He's our best player and is very talented but still has a few things to learn, he isn't complete just yet.

sanyikam,

You do not know what you are talking about....

The US team has more depth and more possibilities than the Magyar Team. The US has a great Manager in Bruce Arena. Lothar would do well to understudy with him. Bruce knows how to take players and make "teams" out of them.

The US is getting consistently better than before through the depth of players we have. They are coming out of the woodwork here. Players to watch, Eddie Johnson (20), Clint Dempsey(22), Pat Noonan(22), Eddie Gaven(19). Freddy Adu is realy coming on strong this year. If he keeps impacting games for DC United, he may get called up to the senior squad.

The difference in the US today is they are fearless. These players feel they can take on anybody. The US has beaten Germany, Brazil, Argentina, England, Portugal, Austria, Poland, and others.

Oh...the US is second in their group right now on 3 games. We are expected to either win our group, but definately qualify with Mexico and Costa Rica.

One more thing, this weekend Bruce is fielding primarily his "B" Team too. Many of his European based players will not be playing due to injury or fatigue.

Regarding Tim Howard:

I think Man Utd need to loan Timmy out next year to give him playing time. When he was at the Metrostars, he was active in all his games and made "spectacular" saves. I believe that was the original intent when they bought him two years ago. SAF should have stayed with the plan, but got impatient with Barthez.

Tim has the athletic ability, he needs to improve on the mental aspect of his game. That is what is killing him right now. When he is confident, he is a great goalkeeper. Think about it though, he is critiqued for every little move he makes at Man Utd. Was his feet in the right place? Did he throw the ball right? He should not have scratched his head..How would anyone perform under constant criticism?

And, Man Utd fans have to get over it. It was not goalkeeping that kept them from winning anything this year. It was pretty simple, they did not score enough goals. Leave Carroll alone about the AC Milan game. I want to know, why did Scholes miss his open opportunity in the first half of the game? What if Fortune had finished his chance? Frankly, that was the pivotal moment in the game, not Carroll's dropped shot.

But Scholes is off limits when it comes to criticism. Rooney and Ronaldo need to finish their chances. They created them, but just missed the post, just over the bar, into the goalkeeper does not cut it. They need to learn how to truly finish their chances. Near misses become a mental thing too.

As Timmy said, it takes 11 guys to win and it takes 11 guys to lose. Man Utd fans need to leave both Carroll and Howard alone. Their problems are bigger than the goalkeeping. It has more to do with goal production and losing or tying lower table teams when they should be winning.

anyway, the next season will be a pretty tough one for the vfb stuttgart, because you have to build a new team if all the following guys would leave.

lahm have to return to bayern
rumours are connecting hleb to arsenal
also kuranyi to schalke
meira, ok not a big loss :D , to a fc porto
szabics köln? maybe hannover?

i really hope you will get this done and have a succesfull season. the same goes for the stuttgarter kickers

well, he was offered a contract since 18months ago.
he refused to sign, so they offered Howard an extension.
so Carrols contract offer was withdrawn.

the cant keep two numbers 2's ;)

Casillas, Frey and Given have been added to the wanted list today.

I dont want Alex... Kameni im not sure.

Frey looks the most likely to me.

just dont take everything I post to seriously :)

Fergie in the Buff

ALEX FERGUSON is poised to launch a £35million bid for Gianluigi Buffon.

The Manchester United boss has made Juventus’ No 1 his top target after ditching calamity keeper Roy Carroll.

United’s new owner Malcolm Glazer has promised Fergie a £100m transfer kitty after their barren season.

Ferguson will only be allowed to spend £20m a season over the next

five years and hopes to persuade the Italian giants to accept a down payment then instalments for Buffon.

But Fergie could see striker Ruud van Nistelrooy head for the Old Trafford exit door.

The unhappy Dutch star, who cost £19m four years ago, has had a disastrous season due to injuries and poor form and has decided he needs a new challenge.

Real Madrid have been strongly linked with Van Nistelrooy in the past and could re-activate their interest.

It is possible a swap deal could be arranged which would involve Michael Owen moving to Old Trafford.

Van Nistelrooy, 28, was heavily criticised by United fans for his display in the FA Cup final defeat by Arsenal.

United lost on penalties but he missed at least three good chances and his body language strongly hinted his time was up.

Buffon, 27, is widely regarded as the best in the world in his business and when he joined Juve from Parma four years ago he cost £32.6m — still a world record fee for a keeper.

Whether Juve, who beat rivals AC Milan to land their 28th Serie A title, would be prepared to sell their prize asset is open to debate.

But they have been stung by their failure to win the Champions League after going out in the quarter-finals to winners Liverpool.

Newcastle’s Shay Given, Spurs’ England No 1 Paul Robinson, Bolton’s Jussi Jaaskelainen, Middlesbrough’s Mark Schwarzer and Antti Niemi of Southampton have all come under Fergie’s scrutiny.

Carroll, 27, was released by United yesterday — despite starting ahead of Tim Howard for the Cup final.

The Northern Ireland star has been wrangling over a new contract since the turn of the year and it seems United have finally run out of patience.

Ironically, after rejecting the club’s first offer, it was thought Carroll was close to signing an improved deal worth around £25,000-a-week.

And his agent even claimed this week the player had been given the assurances he was seeking about his future.

lahm is a big loss and same for Hleb if he leaves. Kuranyi i think is very overrated, i wouldn't mind us selling him as the price would be way over what it should be, so we gain. Same for Meira, and Szabics i am happy is leaving because now he can get to play more often and i also hated being completely biased whenver giving views on which strikers should start. :D

Soldo is still good, he can make one more year.

And we have already bought Hitzlsperger and Bierofka and surely more players are on the way.

I think all we really need is a new coach.
