Re Tim Howard and Carrol. Sir Fergie is an idiot! He has taken away any confidence either of them had..make one mistake and you sit until the other guy makes a mistake. Now they are both tentative. Fergie has no money to buy a good goalie and what good goalie would want to play at ManU when a little mistake is bench sittin time. Who made Fergusson a Knight? Zoli does not belong in England..that one or two passes and then the long ball to the either side..then run to gate it back..make one pass maybe another and then the hopeful long ball. He belongs in Italy or Spain..where the art of passing the ball and ball possesion makes it the beautiful game.

What I can't understand is that how a goalie who is voted the best by the players one year becomes "the worst the next". You don't think that Ferdinand's suspension last year had anything to do with it. I do..their defense was subpar. Every goalie makes a mistake! But when he does make a mistake you don't take him out. Either you believe in him or you don't. If you think he is good..let him play until his game has serious flaws. Any goalie who goes thru what Howard and Carrol are going thru will loose their confidence. Now they are thinking of not making a mistake and when they do that they make mistakes.

ManU has allowed only 9 more goals than Chelsea has. Do you blame that on the goalie or on the team? If Howard or Carrol were the goalies for Chelsea there would be no difference in the rankings. And if Cech makes a few mistakes and than is sat down when he comes back he is not the same.

My cousin and and I watching the WBA/ManU game and when Earnshaw scored the penalty we both said that Fergie will make subsitutions and I said "watch he'll change 3 players all at once". Sure enough! In an important game he starts Smith..a rugby player instead of Rooney. Rooney is their only scoring threat. Scholes is on the bench...their play maker is sitting. Every game the team is changed with 4 or 5 players. You don't start your bench players and bring on your better players when you are down. You start with your best team,,get a lead, and then rest a few good players. They can't score because every game it's a new team. What made the 1954 Magyars great is that they all played together all the time!

ManU is low on money as their revenues are down significantly. He needs to find new players for Keane, Scholes, and Giggs as their are aging. He only has 20 million to play with and his problem is the offense not the goalie.

As far as only Americans rooting for Howard that may be so but not in my case. I don't see how McBride can play in the Premiership..the man is so one dimensional that it's frightening. You may recall that I chastised Landon Donovan for I don't think he can start with any good European team. Why Beasley is doing so well at Eindhoven is beyond my comprehension.

OK so he was knighted for his past accomplishements. Seems to me the main culprit in ManU's demise is Fergie..why doesn't anyone blame him?

A few months ago Fergie said "a goal is always the fault of the defense". That kick that Howard made that went to the opposing player..well the player went around two defenders before he scored. Just saw the highlights and one goalie in the Premiership made the same mistake..he hit one oppiosing player ..the ball bounced off his hest and went to another player who scored. That goalie will start the next game!

Freaking Smith has a header with noone around him about 7 yards from the goal and he misses the entire ball..Fergie starts him and has Rooney on the bench....Sir Fergie is an idiot! He makes Lothar look good!

Zoli has to learn to put his jersey in his pants..he's waking out and I see how sloppy he looks. From the highlights in the past few week Nemeth Szilard seems to be the best player.4 goals in the last two games and he hit the crossbar in the last game and set up one goal with a beautiful pass. Is he a bona fide Hungarian or Romanian citizen?

That's what I'm trying to tell you too..you can put Cech with Southampton and their goalie with Chelsea and the points will not change. Having seen Howard blank the Champions League winner a few years ago (Bayern Munich) here live..all I can say that now his spirit has been diminished by Sir Fergie. He's double guessing himself..still how many points has he lost for ManU?

Just wait till that American takes over ManU..then will see who the rightful goalie is!!!!!!!!

Manu's problem are not the goalies..it's the forwards!

The boy is athletic and I have seen him make spectacular saves. That is why we Americans are not giving up on him.

Oh...this in...Man Utd still has not scored more goals than their opponent. Sounds like Chelsea dismantled them. I think they should blame the loss on Carroll. After all, they have a goalie problem. :sleepy:

McBride has scored 3 goals in his last 4 games. He is doing pretty well right now and has a great attitude.

Bet that Everton also has a major goalie problem after that Arsenal game ;-)

McBride can score when he's all alone and the goalie is helpless..but for him to fake a defender or make a great pass..have not ever seen him do that. But Nemeth can do it all..suggest we pitchjack him for the Magyar NT.

like im sure that it was Fergie's fault that Saha got injured playing for France twice during the season. (Saha was one of the leading scorers in the premiership last season despite playing in only 60% of the games)
Oh and is it also Fegie's fault the Ole Gunner Solskjaer misses the whole season because he suffered a cruciate knee ligament injury?
Right there you have a potential of 60+ goals missing..... but its bad management not to have reserves that are capable of scoring 60 goals in a season. How would Chelsea of coped this season without Terry. Lampard and Cech??


Oh come on Bentex Ur..ManU has the aresenal of goal scorers or maybe they don't. Ronaldo's feet are faster than his brain aims for the goal. Scholes , Giggs and Keane are at the sunset at Old Trafford. The only one who can score is Rooney. Saha is goog but he can't do it all and Ruud..well he's like McBride..they both need that open goal to slide one in. I suppose Rio's vacation for 9 months had nothing to do with it..losing your best defender and then every game pick the defense out of a hat!



I never said all the GK were of similar quality just some... Cech is a class apart. Its a crime to compare him with Niemi or Howard.

You did not answer my question..so I shall repeat. If Howard, Kiraly or Van de Saar were in goal for Chelsea would Chelsea still be the champs?

I was at the game and both teams went all out. Ok, so Bayern had a few subs but were talking about the champiuon of the Chaampions League. The Metro's roped a doped them..the counter attack beat them.

Didn't see it so can't comment. Kiraly made the biggest blunders at the Wales game...saw last week other mistakes by EPL goalies..it happens.


you seem to forget Fergie kept him in the team for a long time while he was making mistakes... and not only that but when he went into the reserve team he was making huge blunders their too, including three againts Man City which I saw on MUTV.

Question is how many points has Howard caused them? Since I don't watch all the games only a select few I can't really comment but will admit he made some mistakes. Put Cech with a lower team and see how many he makes! As long as a golaie makes the saves that he's supposed to save then he's a good goalie and if he makes saves that an ordinary keeper would not then he's great. But this has to be done somewhat consistently.

I think Fergie's days are numbered..he's due for retirement. Read today that Ronaldo wants to play for Real Madrid. With Giggs, Keane, Scholes and now Ronaldo and Rio going the only quality player will be Rooney. Not that I'm a ManU fan..I always root for the underdog and have become a WBA fan because of Zoli.

Just another Sir Fergie blunder..although van der Sar is good this is not for the long term. What Fergie should do is get Diego Forlan back..didn't he score more goals this year in Spain than the entire ManU team did..yes, he did. Fergie is like Lothar...5 new players every game and as Forlan said "he never gives a player a chance".

I am just saying that Carroll looks far more confident and experienced with West Ham. He has saved their butts on a few occasions this year.

He looks like a different keeper from last year.

And so does that Urugyuan forward who went to Spain..and became the leading scorer in Europe..they all get their confidence after leaving ManU. Can't wait till Tim leaves so that he feels good again!
