Played Wednesday, July 25, 2000 in Austria:

Casino Salzburg - VALENCIA : 0-2
Vicente(15')
Pelegrino(30')

Valencia: Palop (Bartual, m.73), Angloma, Amarilla, Pellegrino, Carboni, Milla (Sanjulián, m.81), Albelda, Vicente, Angulo, Sánchez (Parri, m.60), and Carew (Xisco, m.70)

From the short report I read, Valencia had a good first half. Also, Salzburg apparently has a very similar style to Tyrol, Valencia's CL opponent.

Finally, it seems that Vicente has proved to be one of the best Valencia players in the three games played so far. That's certainly good to read, and an excellent sign for the season(s) to come.

He could be. He is "officially" a left midfielder. He would be more of a Kily replacement.

We are now loaded in the attack. We might need one more in midfield, but damn, we still need a couple of good, very good defenders (left and right backs).

I know, we didn't get any backups for aging Carboni and Angloma. I was hoping that my compatriot Cosmin Contra would come, but he looks set with Barcelona. Let's not forget that Djukic is pretty old too.

That's right EclipsE. Not only that, but the only other player with experience in the center of the defense is Bjorklund (Roche is gone).
With the season being as long as it is, and with injuries, and especially suspensions (Carboni and Pellegrino always get carded), we are very thin in the back.
