FIFA's qualifying page
We have a separate thread with general information about WC 2011 in Germany. This thread is for qualifying match info and comments.

The UΕFA Qualifying Groups are as follows (4.5 teams to qualify, besides Germany, who qualify as Host):

Group play continues until 25 August 2010.
The eight Group winners go into a round of home and away play-offs on 11/12 and 15/16 September 2010, with the four winners booking places at the FIFA Women's World Cup 2011. The four losers go into a further series of play-offs to determine which nation faces a representative from CONCACAF (Nov. 20 & 27) for one further place at the finals.

Qualifying nations are: Germany (as hosts), England, France, Sweden, and Norway.
Switzerland and Italy will play a two-leg series October 23 and 27 to decide which of them will go up against the third-place team from CONCACAF in November.
UPDATE: Italy prevailed 5-2 in aggregate over Switzerland, and moves on to face USA in a two-leg series Nov. 20 (in Padova, Italy) and 27 (in Bridgeview, Illinois) for the final WWC qualifying spot.
Update Nov. 27: Italy put up a good fight, but failed to qualify, losing the two-leg series against the USA on an aggregate of 2-0.
